Nitecore has introduced the latest addition to their lineup of flashlights with the unveiling of the M2TC Pro model. This flashlight comes as an upgrade to the existing M2TC, featuring enhanced luminous flux and an extended range. The new M2TC Pro offers users a powerful light flux of up to 1,800 lumens, which is a significant improvement over the previous model’s 390 lumens. Furthermore, the range has also seen a substantial increase from 168 meters to a remarkable 520 meters.
One of the notable features of the M2TC Pro is the incorporation of a USB rechargeable battery. Nitecore provides 18650 batteries with the flashlight, which have a 13 watt-hour capacity (3,7V @ 3500mAh) and can be charged using a USB-C connection. It is important to note that to recharge the battery, users must remove it from the flashlight and utilize the USB-C port on the battery itself, as the flashlight doesn’t have an integrated charging mechanism.
For those who favor versatility or find themselves without access to USB charging facilities, the M2TC Pro can also operate on CR123A batteries, albeit with a reduced performance. The flashlight features a tail switch for operation and can be positioned on its switch side for indirect lighting, such as bouncing light off a ceiling.
When activated, the M2TC Pro initially starts in the highest mode but can be adjusted down to a lower 50-lumen output, which is particularly useful in emergency situations. At full power, the flashlight has a runtime of approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes, while on the low setting of 50 lumens, it will last up to 28 hours.
In terms of build, the M2TC Pro has an IP68 rating, indicating its resistance to dust and water, making it suitable for various outdoor conditions. The flashlight itself weighs 114 grams and has a compact length of approximately 12 cm, or 64 grams without the battery.
The ability to switch between USB-charged and conventional batteries not only adds flexibility in terms of power sources but also caters to those who may be in environments where charging via USB is not an option. It’s a reliable and robust tool designed to meet the demands of different users, from outdoor enthusiasts to those needing a trustworthy source of light during power outages or emergencies.
As of now, Nitecore has not disclosed the price for the M2TC Pro, but its combination of extended range, high luminosity, and rechargeable battery makes it a noteworthy flashlight for anyone in need of a high-quality, versatile lighting solution. The anticipated release of this product is set to enhance the choices available to consumers looking for durable and high-performance flashlights.
