Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.8 is now available, bringing a fresh wave of content to mobile, PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. Titled New: Eridan Sunset, this update delivers the finale of Season 2’s storyline, introduces two new S-Rank agents, and confirms a major platform expansion: Zenless Zone Zero is officially coming to Steam in Q2 2026.
The Steam announcement arrived during the Version 2.8 special program livestream, and the Steam store page is already live so players can wishlist the game ahead of launch. To mark the occasion, a Wishlist Milestone Event is also underway. As the wishlist count reaches specific milestones, participating players will receive in-game rewards such as Polychromes and additional items, giving the community a shared reason to rally around the Steam release.
The Q2 2026 timing suggests the Steam version may line up around the Version 3.0 era, expected in the June window. Importantly, existing players won’t be starting from scratch. Because Zenless Zone Zero uses a HoYoverse account system, progress and purchases will carry over, making it easy to jump between platforms without losing your roster or investment.
On the content side, Version 2.8 pushes the narrative into the Outer Ring, where multiple factions are on the hunt for a mysterious figure named Ramiel. Promeia, known as the executioner of Krampus, enters the story as an intelligence contact, teaming up with Starlight Billy and Cissia as the group tries to uncover Ramiel’s real plan. This chapter also wraps up the New Eridu arc that has driven the second half of Season 2, making it a must-play update for anyone who’s been following the story.
Two new S-Rank agents headline the patch across its two phases. Promeia arrives first as an Ice Anomaly unit, notably the first character to bring Ice into the Anomaly archetype. Her banner runs from now until May 27, and it’s paired with a Lucia rerun. Later in the update, Starlight Billy takes the spotlight as a Physical Rupture agent, positioned as a significantly upgraded version of the Billy character players have had since launch. His banner runs from May 27 to June 16, alongside an Orphie rerun.
Beyond characters and story, Version 2.8 also expands gameplay with a new Vortex combat mechanic, a new attribute-based enemy type, and the Eridan Sunset limited event, giving players more ways to test their teams while the season reaches its climax.
Looking ahead, the Season 3 tease may be just as exciting as the content landing today. The Version 2.8 livestream hinted at a notably large lineup of upcoming agents, revealed in a bigger batch than usual. That preview is already influencing player plans, with many weighing whether to spend Polychromes on Promeia now or save for what’s next. Early hints suggest Season 3 could introduce a new Wind Anomaly archetype and bring in the first agents from the Void Hunter faction, setting the stage for a major shift in the game’s meta and story direction.
