Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.1 launches July 29 with free S-Rank rewards, new characters, and Xbox PC support
Zenless Zone Zero is getting one of its biggest updates yet as Version 3.1, titled “The Long Goodbye,” prepares to launch worldwide on July 29, 2026. The update arrives alongside the game’s second anniversary, giving players a major wave of new content, limited-time rewards, fresh story developments, additional playable Agents, quality-of-life improvements, and expanded platform support.
For fans of HoYoverse’s stylish urban fantasy action RPG, Version 3.1 looks like a packed celebration. Players can expect new narrative missions, a permanent challenge mode, anniversary login bonuses, and a free limited S-Rank Agent selector, making this update especially appealing for both returning players and newcomers.
One of the biggest additions in Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.1 is the arrival of the Microsoft Store PC edition. The game is already available across multiple platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, Epic Games Store, iOS, and Android. With Microsoft Store PC support joining the lineup, more players will have access to New Eridu and its fast-paced Hollow combat.
The new story chapter in “The Long Goodbye” takes players to the flying island of Roscaelifer, where key figures from New Eridu’s major factions gather. Proxies will encounter Truvia, the heiress of High Ambitions Corp., in an unexpected reunion that ties into a series of mysterious local incidents. The investigation also involves Airspace Patrol Director Lindverne Sunbringer, setting the stage for a dramatic chapter filled with faction intrigue, airborne danger, and new revelations.
Version 3.1 also expands the playable roster with two new S-Rank Agents. Remielle Dan is one of the update’s headline characters and introduces the new Lumiflux attribute. As an S-Rank Anomaly Agent, Remielle brings a unique Flux mechanic that allows her elemental output to synchronize with the attribute of the next Agent in the squad. This system could open up new team-building strategies and give players more flexibility when creating powerful combat rotations.
Joining Remielle is Sigrid, a new S-Rank Ice Attack Agent. With her Ice-based combat role, Sigrid is expected to appeal to players looking for a strong damage-focused character who can fit into aggressive squad compositions. The update also introduces Ariel, an S-Rank Bangboo with an angelic design, adding another collectible companion to the growing Bangboo lineup.
Beyond characters and story content, Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.1 introduces a new permanent mode called “Enigma of the Labyrinth: Operation Bagel.” In this mode, an experimental piece of proxy equipment accidentally attracts a massive Ethereal, causing Eous to be pulled into a corrupted Hollow. Players must enter dangerous stages, collect supplies, strengthen party attributes, and escape within the time limit to complete the rescue.
This new permanent mode appears designed to offer replayable challenge content, giving players another reason to keep testing team setups and improving their Agents after finishing the main story missions.
Quality-of-life improvements are also a major part of Version 3.1. A new custom search feature will let players choose six eligible S-Rank Agents from select banners, making it easier to target specific characters. This should be a welcome change for players who want more control over their pulls and long-term account planning.
The update also replaces the previous Proxy Trial with a revamped Beginner’s Guide. This improved system will provide progression tips, character upgrade advice, and guidance based on the player’s current account level. For new players entering Zenless Zone Zero during the anniversary period, this should make the early-game experience smoother and easier to understand.
To celebrate the second anniversary, HoYoverse is giving players several valuable rewards. During the Version 3.1 update, players can log in to claim a free limited S-Rank Agent selector, a matching signature W-Engine, 1,600 Polychromes, and 20 Signal Searches. These anniversary gifts make Version 3.1 one of the best times to jump back into the game or start fresh.
HoYoverse has also confirmed that an official crossover event with Honkai: Star Rail is planned for later this winter. Details about the collaboration have not been fully revealed yet, but the announcement has already sparked excitement among fans of both games.
With new S-Rank characters, a major anniversary reward campaign, a permanent challenge mode, improved player systems, and expanded PC availability, Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.1 is shaping up to be a major milestone for the game. “The Long Goodbye” launches globally on July 29, 2026, bringing another stylish and action-packed chapter to the world of New Eridu.
