Timex expands its Waterbury Heritage Automatic GMT lineup with a new maroon-and-black model
Timex has introduced a fresh version of its Waterbury Heritage Automatic GMT, giving the travel-ready watch a bold new color combination and the same automatic GMT functionality that made the earlier models appealing to enthusiasts.
The latest model, reference TW2Y93500, joins the Waterbury Heritage Automatic GMT collection with a two-tone maroon and black bezel, a red anodized crown, and a stainless steel case and bracelet. It is now available in the UK, Europe, and the US, where it is listed as a new release.
This is the third color option in the Waterbury Heritage Automatic GMT range, following the earlier red-and-black and green-and-black bezel versions released in April. While the overall design remains familiar, the new maroon-and-black bezel gives the watch a slightly warmer and more distinctive look.
The watch features a black dial with applied hour markers, luminous hands and indices, and a date window positioned at 3 o’clock. A red GMT hand with a white triangle tip adds practical second-time-zone tracking, while a yellow seconds hand brings a touch of contrast to the dial. The red crown also helps tie the design together, matching the tone of the bezel and GMT hand.
The stainless steel case measures 41.5 mm across, with a 48 mm lug-to-lug length and a thickness of 14 mm. It uses a mix of brushed and polished finishing, giving it a classic sports-watch appearance. The watch comes fitted to a matching stainless steel bracelet with self-adjustable links and a butterfly deployant clasp. Its total weight is listed at 159.73 g.
For the crystal, Timex uses domed K1 mineral glass with an anti-reflective coating. The watch also includes an exhibition case back, allowing a view of the movement inside. Water resistance is rated at 50 meters, making it suitable for everyday wear and light exposure to water, though not ideal for serious diving.
Powering the TW2Y93500 is the NH34 automatic GMT movement. This movement allows the wearer to track a second time zone using the red GMT hand and the 24-hour bezel, making the watch useful for travel, remote work across time zones, or simply keeping track of another city.
Pricing for the new Timex Waterbury Heritage Automatic GMT TW2Y93500 is set at £475 in the UK, €549 in Europe, and $579 in the US. That places it slightly above the earlier versions, which launched in the US at $569.
With its automatic GMT movement, stainless steel construction, exhibition case back, and new maroon-and-black styling, the latest Waterbury Heritage model adds another appealing option for buyers looking for an affordable mechanical GMT watch with a classic yet colorful design.
