Timex Waterbury Heritage Automatic Debuts With First Day-Date Design in the Collection
Timex has expanded its Waterbury Heritage lineup with a new automatic day-date watch, giving the collection a more refined and practical everyday dress option. The latest release arrives in two dial colors, black and deep blue, both housed in a classic 39mm stainless steel case.
Unlike some of the more feature-heavy models in the Waterbury Heritage family, such as GMT and chronograph versions, this new automatic watch takes a cleaner approach. It focuses on traditional styling, a balanced three-hand layout, and the added usefulness of a day-date display at 3 o’clock. This makes it the first Waterbury Heritage model to combine automatic movement with a day and date complication.
The new Timex Waterbury Heritage Automatic is available in two references. The TW2Y94200 features a glossy black enamel dial with a two-tone design, while the TW2Y94100 comes with a deep blue enamel dial and a full silver-tone stainless steel finish. Both versions use a 39mm stainless steel case with a mix of brushed and polished surfaces, creating a polished look without feeling overly flashy.
Timex has kept the dial design simple and elegant. The watch features baton-style hour markers, luminous faceted hour and minute hands, and a slim seconds hand. Around the outer edge, a precise minute track adds a functional detail while keeping the overall look uncluttered. The day and date window sits neatly at 3 o’clock, while Waterbury branding appears below 12 o’clock and the “Automatic” label is placed above 6 o’clock.
The black dial model leans into a dressier two-tone appearance, with gold-tone accents on the hands, markers, crown, bezel detailing, and bracelet center links. The blue dial model has a more understated stainless steel look, pairing its blue enamel dial with a silver-tone bracelet and matching case.
Both watches come fitted with a stainless steel bracelet that includes self-adjustable links, quick-release spring bars, and a butterfly clasp. These features should make sizing and strap changes more convenient, especially for buyers who prefer to fine-tune the fit themselves.
Inside the Waterbury Heritage Automatic is the Miyota 8205 movement, a 21-jewel automatic caliber that powers the hours, minutes, seconds, day, and date functions. The movement can be viewed through the exhibition caseback, adding another appealing detail for those who enjoy mechanical watches. The movement is rated for up to 42 hours of power reserve when fully wound, with an accuracy range of -20 to +40 seconds per day.
The watch is protected by a double-domed K1 mineral crystal with an anti-reflective coating. Water resistance is rated at 50 meters, making it suitable for everyday wear and light exposure to water, though it is not designed as a dedicated dive watch.
The Timex Waterbury Heritage Automatic day-date model is now available through the brand’s official store and select authorized retailers in the US, UK, and Europe. Pricing starts at $449, £375, or €429 for the blue dial version. The two-tone black dial model is priced slightly higher at $469, £385, or €449.
