NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 GPU To Feature 20 Gbps GDDR6 Memory, 8 GB VRAM & 5-Phase VRM 1

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 8 GB GPU Set for July 1st Debut

NVIDIA has recently adjusted the release date for its upcoming GeForce RTX 5050 GPU, now set to debut on July 1st. This move shifts the launch from its original late July schedule. According to sources, this timing is a bit unusual as it might result in a paper launch, with actual product availability likely occurring later in the month.

The GeForce RTX 5050, positioned as an entry-level option, is expected to be priced between $199 and $249, sitting below the $299 GeForce RTX 5060. This new GPU will compete directly with Intel’s Arc B580 and Arc B570, which are priced at $219 and $249, respectively.

Featuring the GB207 GPU, the RTX 5050 offers 2560 cores, matching the RTX 3050, but it benefits from the advanced Blackwell core architecture. The GPU comes with 8 GB of GDDR6 VRAM on a 128-bit bus interface, utilizing 20 Gbps modules to provide a total bandwidth of 320 GB/s.

Here’s a brief comparison with the RTX 3050: both have the same number of cores and memory capacity, but the RTX 5050 boasts faster memory speeds (20 Gbps vs. 14 Gbps) and greater bandwidth (320 GB/s vs. 224 GB/s) while potentially consuming less power.

AIB partners are expected to have custom variants ready when the card ships. However, there will be no Founders Edition model, though most reference designs will likely incorporate a 5-phase VRM design. As the launch approaches, more details on the RTX 5050 will emerge, and the market’s reaction to this entry-level contender will be intriguing to see.
