The RTX 50 series graphics cards are experiencing a significant drop in prices, with the RTX 5070 being the latest to see a price reduction in Japan. The Gainward GeForce RTX 5070 Python III is now listed at around 18% below its original MSRP, echoing similar price cuts in North America and Europe.
Originally launched at $549, the RTX 5070’s price in Japan was initially set at 108,800 Yen, about $747, which is quite steep compared to the North American market. Availability issues compounded the problem, but now prices are taking a refreshing dip. A notable example is the custom version, recently spotted at a considerably lower price.
A popular Japanese store, PC Koubou, now offers the Gainward GeForce RTX 5070 Python III for just 89,980 Yen, approximately $618. This figure marks the lowest point for the RTX 5070 since its debut, bringing the cost in line with major North American retailers. While options on Amazon Japan remain limited, the MSI RTX 5070 Ventus 2X OC on TSUKUMO is priced at 99,800 Yen, still a substantial reduction from its initial MSRP.
When comparing to previous months, the price drop is evident across various markets, including North America and Europe. In the U.S., the GeForce RTX 5070 can be found for around $600 with good availability, with similar pricing seen on platforms like Newegg.
In Europe, a quick check on Geizhals reveals that some RTX 5070 GPUs are now available for about €560, a considerable €110 reduction from their launch price in Germany. With the pace of these price cuts, it’s likely that most RTX 5070 GPUs will soon be available at or below their MSRP across the globe.
