The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 series is experiencing a welcome reduction in prices, with the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5080 seeing significant markdowns. These high-performance GPUs, which debuted recently, are now more accessible, thanks to improved availability leading to natural price adjustments.
The GeForce RTX 5080, for instance, has dropped to 169,980 Yen (around $1163), marking the lowest price since its launch. Originally set at 198,800 Yen (approximately $1362), it previously soared beyond 210,000 Yen (about $1439). This reduction brings prices approximately 20% below their peak and around 15% beneath the official MSRP. While the RTX 5080 debuted at $999 in North America, Japanese pricing typically runs higher due to factors such as customs and shipping.
The 169,980 Yen deal is particularly appealing for the Gainward GeForce RTX 5080 Phoenix, available on a limited-time offer at TSUKUMO. While some models remain priced over 200,000 Yen on sites like Amazon, others, such as the ZOTAC RTX 5080 Amp Extreme Infinity, fall below this threshold on TSUKUMO.
Similarly, the RTX 5070 Ti is seeing reductions. The Palit GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Gaming Pro-S briefly appeared below MSRP at 139,980 Yen on Amazon, a 6% drop from the original 148,800 Yen. Though its official launch price was $749, in Japan, it typically exceeds $1000. This makes it the first of its kind to dip below $1000, with additional variants also seeing markdowns on TSUKUMO.
While the entire RTX 50 lineup is trending towards their suggested retail prices, full alignment may take a few more weeks. Budget-friendly options like the GeForce RTX 5060 are already near their MSRP, with the RTX 5070 edging closer to $600. Patience might be rewarded, as holding off could avoid an extra $100-$200 expenditure.
