Intel Core Ultra 5 245HX Surges Ahead with 38% Multi-Threaded Boost on PassMark, Surpassing Desktop Rivals

The mobile Arrow Lake lineup is outperforming its desktop counterparts, as evident from the recent benchmarks of the Core Ultra 5 245HX. This new processor demonstrates significant advances in performance.

The Core Ultra 5 245HX is showing an impressive 26% boost in single-threaded and 38% in multi-threaded performance compared to the Core i5 14500HX, based on PassMark tests. This highlights a notable generational improvement in the Arrow Lake series.

While the Arrow Lake-S desktop CPUs offer some enhancements in multi-threaded tasks over the 14th generation, they fall short in gaming and single-threaded performance. On the other hand, the mobile Arrow Lake-HX lineup appears to provide more significant benefits, even though market availability remains limited.

Recent benchmark data from PassMark reveals that the Core Ultra 5 245HX scores 4,530 in single-threaded and 40,059 in multi-threaded tests. While it trails slightly behind the Core Ultra 5 245K, it surpasses the Core 5 245, a slightly less potent variant of the 245K.

Despite the Core i5 14500HX having six additional threads, the Core Ultra 5 245HX’s performance boost is notable. However, the gaming performance remains to be seen and will be better understood with future benchmarks. Previously, the Core Ultra 200S processors fell short against the 14th-gen Raptor Lake Refresh CPUs despite their superior specs.

As more benchmarks emerge, the Arrow Lake-HX series is anticipated to bring noteworthy advancements. Stay tuned for more updates as these developments unfold.
