A new generation of Govee’s popular Cone Tree Lights looks to be on the horizon. The upcoming Govee Cone Tree Lights 2 has surfaced ahead of any official announcement, hinting that Govee is preparing a refreshed version of its outdoor-ready smart lighting tree that launched toward the end of 2024.
The unreleased Cone Tree Lights 2 was recently spotted in the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA) database, a strong sign that the product is being readied for broader smart home compatibility. The listing confirms the lights are intended for outdoor use and will deliver dynamic, colored lighting effects—exactly the kind of festive décor many people use for holidays, parties, and year-round backyard ambience.
One of the biggest expected upgrades is built-in Matter support. According to the listing, the Cone Tree Lights 2 will be compatible with Matter 1.3, which should make it easier to connect and control within a wide range of smart home ecosystems. In addition to Matter, the lights are expected to support both Bluetooth and Wi‑Fi, allowing remote control through the Govee Home app.
While the CSA entry reveals the connectivity and smart home features, many of the key details have not been confirmed yet. That includes the final dimensions, available versions, color options, and specifics about the light source.
For context, the original Govee Cone Tree Lights used RGBIC lamp beads and offered a large library of built-in lighting looks, including 82 preset scene modes and music-synced effects. The first generation came in 6 ft (1.82 m) and 7.5 ft (2.28 m) sizes, featured a star-shaped topper, and could be used indoors or outdoors. The new Cone Tree Lights 2 is listed as model H6842, while the earlier versions were model H6840 and H6841—another clue that this is a true follow-up rather than a minor revision.
So far, Govee has not shared release timing or full pricing. However, it would be reasonable to expect pricing in the same range or slightly higher than the current model. The original Cone Tree Lights launched with pricing around $159.99 for the 6-foot version and $189.99 for the 7.5-foot version.
Until Govee makes things official, the Cone Tree Lights 2 remains a product to watch—especially for smart home users who want outdoor decorative lighting with Matter compatibility, app control, and colorful animated effects.
