Garmin’s Latest Mid-Range Smartwatch Update Sparks Confusion Ahead of Stable Release

Garmin has rolled out a fresh update for the Vivoactive 6, one of its popular mid-range smartwatches. Interestingly, this update mentions adding features that keen users might recognize from previous versions. The update process has leaped ahead to Beta 12.63, and it requires manual installation if your Vivoactive 6 is part of Garmin’s Beta Program. To get the update, navigate through the Main Menu to Settings, then System, and finally Software Update, and choose ‘Check for Updates.’

Between Beta 12.59 and the new Beta 12.63, the main change is the updated Garmin Connect Mobile translations, now enhanced to v2.80. While there’s no word on when these updates will hit the stable channel, users can look forward to several new features from Software Version 10.14 up to Beta 12.63. These include an evening report that summarizes your day before bedtime, an automatic rest timer for Strength activities, support for Rucking activities, and new apps like a calculator and Tips. Additionally, you can now create custom focus modes for a more personalized smartwatch experience.

This series of updates indicates Garmin’s commitment to refining the Vivoactive 6’s user experience, despite some redundancy in the feature list, keeping users curious about what’s next.
