DJI is turning up the hype ahead of its next pocket-sized gimbal camera, and the latest teaser suggests the Osmo Pocket 4 could bring a serious slow-motion upgrade that puts it closer to professional mirrorless setups than ever before.
In a short clip tagged with the line “The World in my Pocket,” DJI appears to hint at a new 4K 240fps slow-motion mode. If that spec lands, it would be a major jump from the Osmo Pocket 3’s current 4K 120fps limit—effectively doubling the frame rate for smoother, more dramatic slow-motion. For creators who edit on a 24fps timeline, this would let you stretch one second of real-time action into roughly 10 seconds of cinematic 4K slow-mo, without needing a larger camera rig.
The rumored 4K/240fps capability is especially notable because many high-end cameras from major brands still don’t offer 240fps at 4K resolution, despite costing thousands of dollars. By contrast, 4K/120fps has become more common (even in some flagship smartphones), but 240fps in sharp, high-resolution capture is still a rarity in the broader “real camera” world. If DJI delivers it in a pocketable stabilized camera, it could become a go-to tool for action shooters, travel filmmakers, and social video creators who want premium slow-motion without hauling extra gear.
There’s more speculation swirling, too. Leaks tied to retail packaging have fueled talk of 6K recording on the Osmo Pocket 4—something DJI hasn’t outright teased yet, but a feature that would further separate it from typical pocket cameras and raise its appeal for creators who want extra resolution for cropping, reframing, and more detailed footage.
Beyond frame rates and resolution, the Osmo Pocket 4 is also expected to move to a 1-inch stacked CMOS sensor, with rumors pointing to as much as 14 stops of dynamic range. If accurate, that’s the kind of improvement that can translate into cleaner low-light video, better highlight control, and more flexible color grading—exactly what shooters look for when trying to get a more “cinematic” image out of a compact camera. Additional expected upgrades include internal storage and other refinements aimed at making the Pocket line feel more capable and self-contained.
With an April 16 launch date close, DJI will likely continue releasing teasers in the days leading up to the announcement. If the rumored 4K 240fps slow-motion mode and the upgraded 1-inch stacked sensor are real, the Osmo Pocket 4 could be one of the most compelling compact camera releases for creators who want pro-style results in a device that truly fits in a pocket.
