Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 Renders Leak: A Flip 7 Clone That Plays It Painfully Safe

Fresh CAD-based leaks suggest Samsung’s next clamshell foldable won’t be a dramatic redesign. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 looks set to closely mirror the Galaxy Z Flip 7, focusing on minor refinements rather than a bold new direction.

Recently published CAD renders indicate the Galaxy Z Flip 8 measures 166.8mm x 75.4mm x 6.6mm when unfolded and 85.4mm x 75.4mm x 13.2mm when folded. Compared with its predecessor, the most notable physical change appears to be a slimmer profile in the folded position—roughly half a millimeter thinner—pointing to small but welcome improvements in pocketability.

In terms of displays, the leak claims Samsung is sticking with a familiar setup: a 4.1-inch cover screen paired with a 6.9-inch inner display. The exterior panel layout also appears unchanged, featuring dual rear cameras alongside an LED flash on the cover side—essentially reinforcing the expectation that the Galaxy Z Flip 8 will be an evolutionary update rather than a full refresh.

If the current timeline holds, Samsung could unveil the Galaxy Z Flip 8 in early July, with an announcement expected somewhere between July 7 and July 9. Retail availability may follow later in the month, with in-store sales anticipated around July 22 to July 25.

While many fans may be hoping for bigger hardware changes, these early details suggest Samsung’s strategy for the Galaxy Z Flip 8 could be about polishing a proven formula: slightly thinner dimensions, the same large cover display experience, and the familiar foldable design that has helped the Flip series become one of the most popular foldable phones on the market.
