Sony appears to be gearing up to expand its Inzone gaming lineup with a new headset called the Inzone H6 Air, and a fresh leak has now revealed the key specs ahead of its expected April 14 debut. The big draw is that it’s reportedly the first open-back headset in Sony’s Inzone range, positioned as a more affordable alternative to the Inzone H9 II while targeting players who want a more natural, spacious sound for gaming.
An open-back design is a major shift from the closed-back approach most gaming headsets use. According to the leaked details, the Inzone H6 Air features a perforated aluminum grille that allows air and sound to move more freely. In practical terms, that typically creates a wider soundstage, helping effects and ambience feel less “boxed in” and more like they’re happening around you. For gamers who value immersion, especially in single-player titles and expansive worlds, that open presentation can be a huge plus.
The leak also suggests Sony is borrowing from its audio heritage. The headset’s speaker tech is said to be derived from the Sony MDR-MV1 headphones, then tuned specifically for gaming. On top of that, the Inzone H6 Air is expected to support multiple spatial audio layers, including 7.1 surround sound processing and 360 Spatial Sound. There’s also mention of collaboration with PlayStation Studios to provide optimized sound profiles, which could be especially useful in competitive games where accurate directional audio can make the difference between hearing footsteps behind you or missing the cue entirely.
Comfort looks like another major selling point. The Inzone H6 Air is listed at just 199 grams, which would make it the lightest headset in the Inzone family. If the leak is accurate, that lightweight build—paired with an adjustable headband and aluminum elements—should help reduce fatigue during long sessions. With the microphone attached, the weight reportedly rises to 211 grams, which is still notably light for a full-size gaming headset.
For chat and streaming, the headset is said to include a detachable bidirectional boom microphone, along with AI-based noise reduction designed to better isolate your voice from background sounds. It also reportedly supports voice monitoring with a natural, latency-free experience, which can help prevent shouting or over-projecting while wearing headphones.
Connectivity options look flexible, too. The leak lists USB-C as the primary connection, along with a USB-C audio box, and a 3.5mm cable for broader compatibility. Software support is expected through the Inzone Hub, where users should be able to tweak EQ settings and enable immersive audio modes.
Here’s what the leak claims will be included in the box: a USB-C audio box, headphone cable, detachable boom microphone with a windscreen, plus the usual documentation and warranty materials. The model number mentioned is MDR-G600/B.
Pricing and availability are also outlined in the leak. The Inzone H6 Air is expected to launch at $199 in the United States, €199 in Europe, and £179 in the United Kingdom, with a reported release date of April 14 and availability starting the same day.
If Sony sticks to these specs, the Inzone H6 Air could appeal to gamers who want a lighter headset and a more open, airy sound signature—without jumping to the higher price range of the company’s premium models.
