Sony looks set to expand its gaming audio lineup again, with a new set of Inzone headphones reportedly landing very soon. After recently growing its popular 1000X family with the WF-1000XM6 and launching the Inzone H9 II gaming headset with sound tuned to complement Sony’s premium audio approach, attention is now shifting back to the Inzone brand for what could be a different kind of headset than we’ve seen from the series so far.
According to a report citing leaker billbil-kun, Sony is preparing to launch the Inzone H6 Air, with a release date tipped for April 14. While the headset may be officially available on that date, deliveries are expected to begin a few days later, suggesting a short gap between launch and shipping.
Pricing is also said to be locked in. The Inzone H6 Air is expected to cost $199.99 in the United States, placing it in a competitive mid-range bracket for dedicated gaming headsets. The model has reportedly already appeared at an Australian retailer, adding weight to the idea that a launch is close.
What makes the Inzone H6 Air especially interesting is the early talk around its design and connectivity. While full specifications haven’t been confirmed yet, the report suggests Sony may be aiming for an open-back headset style. Open-back headphones are often favored by gamers and audio enthusiasts who want a wider, more natural soundstage and better spatial cues, especially in competitive games where positioning and direction matter.
Even more notably, the Inzone H6 Air is rumored to skip wireless features entirely. The leak claims there may be no Bluetooth and no 2.4 GHz wireless connection option, meaning Sony could be positioning this model as a strictly wired gaming headset. If accurate, that would likely appeal to players who prioritize low latency and a straightforward plug-and-play setup over cable-free convenience.
The same report also indicates the Inzone H6 Air may arrive alongside refreshed Inzone Buds, hinting at a broader update to Sony’s gaming audio lineup. For now, key details like driver specs, microphone performance, comfort features, and platform compatibility remain under wraps, but with the rumored date approaching quickly, an official reveal from Sony may not be far off.
