Citizen Unveils Limited-Edition Watches Featuring Striking Stained Glass Dials

Citizen is preparing to launch two elegant limited edition xC Basic Collection watches in Japan, bringing a refined stained-glass-inspired design to its popular women’s watch lineup. The new models, the Citizen ES9391-62X and Citizen ES9437-55X, are themed around the look of a “rose window,” giving each dial a decorative, luminous appearance reminiscent of colored glass found in classic architecture.

The Citizen ES9391-62X stands out with a deep red oblong dial that delivers a rich and sophisticated look. Its stainless steel case and bracelet feature a silver-tone Duratect Platinum surface, designed to enhance durability while keeping the watch polished and elegant. A lab-grown diamond is placed at the 6 o’clock position, adding a subtle touch of luxury without overwhelming the dial’s intricate pattern.

The Citizen ES9437-55X offers a warmer and softer interpretation of the same design idea. This model features a round stainless steel case with rose gold-colored plating, matched with a coordinating bracelet. Like the ES9391-62X, it includes lab-grown diamonds, though this version places the sparkling detail at the 10 o’clock position for a more distinctive layout.

Both limited edition Citizen xC watches are powered by the H060 caliber and use a traditional three-hand analog display. The dials combine Roman numerals with baton-style hour markers, creating a classic yet modern appearance. A simple date window is also included for everyday practicality.

As part of Citizen’s Eco-Drive lineup, these watches can be powered by any light source, reducing the need for regular battery replacement. They also feature radio-controlled timekeeping, helping maintain accurate time automatically when within a supported signal area.

The Citizen xC Basic Collection ES9391-62X will be priced at ¥86,900, which is approximately $548, and will be limited to 1,200 units worldwide. The Citizen ES9437-55X will retail for ¥82,500, or around $520, with production limited to 1,100 units worldwide.

Both watches are scheduled to launch in Japan on November 5, 2026. With their stained-glass-style dials, Eco-Drive technology, radio-controlled accuracy, and limited production numbers, the new Citizen xC Basic Collection models are likely to appeal to collectors and anyone looking for an elegant solar-powered watch with a distinctive design.
