Casio F-91WF Arrives in the US With a Fabric Strap, Familiar Features, and a Higher Price
Casio’s legendary F-91W has a new look in the United States. The newly released Casio F-91WF series brings the classic digital watch design back with a woven fabric strap, giving fans a fresh alternative to the traditional resin band. The watches are now available in three colors: black, navy blue, and olive green.
For anyone who loves the simple, ultra-lightweight, and affordable appeal of the original Casio F-91W, the new F-91WF may look instantly familiar. That is because most of the watch remains unchanged. The compact resin case, digital display, stopwatch, alarm, LED light, and long battery life are all still here. The biggest difference is the strap.
The new band is made from recycled PET fibers, giving the watch a more casual, outdoors-inspired style. Casio also says the fabric strap is designed to resist scratches and stains, which should make it a practical option for everyday wear. It also adds more personality to a watch that has often been known for its plain but iconic design.
However, the upgrade comes with a noticeable price increase. The Casio F-91WF models are priced at $45.95 in the US. By comparison, the standard resin-strap F-91W is listed at $29.95 through Casio, while it can often be found at lower prices through major retailers. That means buyers may end up paying roughly twice as much for the fabric-strap version compared to the classic model’s common street price.
That price difference may be hard to ignore, especially because the core watch is essentially the same. The F-91WF still uses the same compact 38.2 × 35.2 × 8.5mm resin case and weighs only 21 grams. It remains a simple, lightweight digital watch built around function rather than luxury.
Still, the appeal is easy to understand. The Casio F-91W has been one of the most recognizable digital watches for decades, thanks to its low cost, reliability, small size, and timeless retro design. For fans who want the same dependable watch but with a softer, more distinctive strap, the F-91WF finally offers that option without needing an aftermarket band.
The three US models are:
Casio F-91WF-1A in black
Casio F-91WF-2A in navy blue
Casio F-91WF-3A in olive green
The color options help the F-91WF feel a little more modern while preserving the watch’s familiar identity. The olive green model may appeal to fans of military-inspired and outdoor-style watches, while the navy blue version adds a subtle twist. The black version is the closest to the classic F-91W look but with the added texture of the woven strap.
In terms of features, the F-91WF keeps everything that made the original so popular. It includes a 1/100-second stopwatch, daily alarm, hourly time signal, automatic calendar, 12/24-hour time format, and a green LED backlight. The CR2016 battery is rated for approximately seven years, which remains one of the watch’s strongest everyday advantages.
The main question is whether the fabric strap is worth the higher price. If you simply want the cheapest version of the classic Casio digital watch, the standard F-91W is still the better value. But if you like the iconic design and want a more comfortable or distinctive strap, the F-91WF is a welcome addition to Casio’s lineup.
