ASRock Shatters Taichi’s Black-and-Gold Mold With Its First All-White X870E Flagship for AMD’s Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Dual Edition

ASRock is expanding its flagship AM5 lineup with a striking new motherboard aimed squarely at enthusiasts who want top-tier performance without compromising on aesthetics. The newly announced X870E Taichi White is the company’s first all-white flagship model in the Taichi family, built to anchor premium “all-white” PC builds while delivering the kind of power delivery and next-gen connectivity expected from a high-end Ryzen platform.

The X870E Taichi White doesn’t just add a new paint job. It leans fully into the theme with a white PCB, white heatsinks, and white connectors, making it far easier to put together a cohesive build where every visible component matches. For builders who obsess over clean cable routing and coordinated hardware, that attention to detail can be just as important as raw specs.

Under the hood, ASRock positions the board as an ideal match for the latest high-end Ryzen chips, including the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Dual Edition. Even so, it remains a full AM5 motherboard, meaning it’s designed to work with a broad range of compatible processors across both Zen 4 and Zen 5 generations. While the overall look is different from the existing X870E Taichi, ASRock keeps the core flagship formula intact, including a serious 24+2+1 power phase VRM design with 110A SPS, built for stable operation when pushing premium CPUs under demanding workloads.

For expandability and storage, the X870E Taichi White is built around native PCIe Gen 5.0 support. That includes PCIe 5.0 x16 slots for graphics cards and other expansion hardware, along with Gen 5.0 M.2 support for ultra-fast NVMe SSDs. On the rear I/O, dual USB4 ports add modern, high-bandwidth connectivity for fast external storage, docks, and other advanced peripherals.

Memory support is also geared toward high-end rigs. The board includes four DDR5 DIMM slots with dual-channel support and handles up to 256GB of DDR5, offering plenty of headroom for gaming, content creation, and workstation-style multitasking.

ASRock also includes a larger 64MB BIOS chip, a move that can help with broader CPU support over time and smoother long-term platform longevity. For enthusiasts, it’s also packed with onboard features aimed at overclocking and troubleshooting, making it more attractive for builders who like to tune and test their systems beyond default settings.

ASRock’s Taichi boards have already built a reputation among overclockers, and with this white edition carrying over the flagship-grade VRM and feature set, it’s clearly designed to serve the same audience—especially those looking to push Ryzen 9-class processors to their limits while maintaining a premium, uniform build theme.

Pricing and availability haven’t been announced yet, but given its flagship positioning in the X870E lineup and its premium design focus, it’s reasonable to expect it to launch at the higher end of the market.
