A new Ugreen car charger looks set to launch soon, and early details suggest it could be a meaningful upgrade for drivers who rely on fast, stable wireless charging on the road.
The upcoming accessory, listed with model number W778, has appeared in the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) database. That matters because the WPC oversees key wireless charging standards, including Qi2, and product listings there often signal that a release is getting closer.
From the available image, the new Ugreen Wireless Car Charger keeps the familiar formula that has made magnetic car mounts so popular. Up front, there’s a round, Qi2-certified wireless charging pad designed for magnetically aligned charging. The charger attaches to your car’s air vent using a clip mount, aiming for a secure hold even on bumpy roads.
Where this new model seems to stand out is cooling. Compared with Ugreen’s earlier MagFlow Magnetic Wireless Car Charger 25W (model W758), the W778 appears to introduce a revamped cooling system. You can see venting around the charging pad as well as at the rear, a design choice that may help manage heat during longer drives, faster charging sessions, or in warmer weather. Better thermal control can be especially important for maintaining charging performance and reducing the chances of throttling.
Beyond that cooling redesign, the rest of the feature set is still largely a question mark. Expectations are that it will support up to 25W wireless charging, using magnets to keep compatible phones properly positioned for consistent power delivery. The mount should also allow full 360-degree rotation, making it easier to switch between portrait and landscape for navigation, calls, or music controls.
For now, Ugreen hasn’t confirmed a release date or pricing for the W778. As a reference point, the older MagFlow Magnetic Wireless Car Charger 25W has been priced at $39.99 in the US, so it will be interesting to see whether the new model lands in the same range or costs more due to the upgraded cooling and refreshed design.
