Aoostar Maco mini PC refreshed with Ryzen 7 Pro 6850H, OCuLink eGPU support, and a lower price
Aoostar has rolled out a new, more affordable configuration of its Maco mini PC in China. While the refresh steps back to an older processor, it keeps the features that made the Maco stand out, including OCuLink for high-speed external GPU connectivity.
At the heart of this version is AMD’s Ryzen 7 Pro 6850H, a Zen 3+ chip from the Rembrandt lineup paired with Radeon 680M integrated graphics. The iGPU is well-suited for everyday computing and can handle a selection of games at 1080p with low to medium settings. For those who want more graphics horsepower, the retained OCuLink port enables high-performance eGPU setups, and two USB4 ports add even more flexibility for external GPU solutions.
Despite the lower price, the I/O remains generous and unchanged from previous variants:
– 2x USB 2.0 Type-A
– 2x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A
– 2x 2.5G Ethernet
– 1x HDMI
– 1x DisplayPort
– OCuLink and 2x USB4 for eGPU and high-speed peripherals
This configuration comes with 24 GB of RAM, and it appears to be the only memory option offered. Storage is user-expandable via two M.2 PCIe slots, with support reportedly up to 16 TB, matching other Maco configurations.
The refreshed Aoostar Maco launched in China at CNY 1,977, roughly $278 based on current conversion rates. A wider global release hasn’t been announced yet.
Who should consider it? If you’re looking for a compact desktop that balances price, capable integrated graphics, and serious expansion potential via eGPU, this Maco build is an appealing pick. It’s a strong fit for students, home offices, living-room setups, and creators who want a small system today with room to scale graphics performance later.
