Acer Predator Atlas 8 Set to Bring Arc B390 Graphics to the Windows Handheld Gaming Market
Acer is preparing to expand its gaming hardware lineup with the Predator Atlas 8, a new Windows-powered handheld designed for players who want portable PC gaming with a larger display and strong performance-focused hardware. The device is expected to launch globally in October 2026, targeting several major regions including Africa, Australia, Europe, the Middle East, and North America.
One of the biggest highlights of the Predator Atlas 8 is its display. Acer has equipped the handheld with an 8-inch IPS screen featuring a 1200p resolution, giving players a sharper and more immersive viewing experience than many compact gaming devices. The panel also reaches up to 500 nits of peak brightness, which should make it easier to use in brighter indoor environments or while traveling. A 120 Hz variable refresh rate adds another gaming-friendly advantage, helping deliver smoother motion while reducing screen tearing in supported titles.
Performance is another major focus. The Predator Atlas 8 is expected to feature Arc B390 graphics, positioning it as an interesting new option in the Windows handheld gaming space. Acer is also pairing the device with up to 24 GB of LPDDR5X-7467 memory, which should help with multitasking, modern games, and demanding applications. For storage, the handheld will offer up to 1 TB of M.2 2280 space, giving users room for large game libraries, updates, and media files.
Despite its powerful hardware, Acer appears to be keeping the design relatively portable. The Predator Atlas 8 measures 299 x 127 x 28.5 mm, making it a substantial but still travel-friendly gaming device. Battery options are also expected to vary depending on the configuration. Acer reportedly plans to offer versions with either a 60 Wh or 80 Wh battery. The 60 Wh model is expected to weigh around 770 g, while the larger 80 Wh model may weigh approximately 810 g.
The larger battery option could appeal to players who prioritize longer gaming sessions away from a charger, while the lighter model may be better suited for those who want a more comfortable handheld experience during travel or extended play.
At the moment, Acer has not confirmed official pricing for the Predator Atlas 8. With its 8-inch 1200p display, 120 Hz VRR support, high-speed LPDDR5X memory, M.2 storage, and Arc B390 graphics, the handheld could become a notable competitor in the growing portable Windows gaming PC market.
