Acer Predator Atlas 8 price and release window revealed for the UK
Acer’s upcoming Predator Atlas 8 gaming handheld is no longer just a Computex teaser. The company has now revealed UK pricing, confirmed key hardware configurations, and opened priority pre-order registration ahead of an expected October launch.
The Acer Predator Atlas 8 will start at £999.99 in the UK, with the highest-end model climbing to £1,499.99. That puts Acer’s new Windows gaming handheld firmly in premium territory, even though the lineup includes a lower-cost version based on Intel’s standard Arc G3 chip rather than the more powerful Arc G3 Extreme.
The device is built for PC gamers who want a portable Windows 11 handheld capable of running existing game libraries, while also taking advantage of Intel XeSS upscaling support for improved performance in compatible titles.
Acer has confirmed four Predator Atlas 8 configurations for the UK market.
The entry-level model includes an Intel Arc G3 processor, 16GB of RAM, a 512GB SSD, and a 60Whr battery for £999.99.
The next version keeps the Intel Arc G3 chip and 512GB SSD but increases memory to 24GB of RAM, priced at £1,099.99.
The higher-end range starts with the Intel Arc G3 Extreme model, featuring 24GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD, and a larger 80Whr battery for £1,299.99.
At the top of the lineup is the Intel Arc G3 Extreme version with 32GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD, and an 80Whr battery, priced at £1,499.99.
One of the most interesting parts of Acer’s strategy is the inclusion of both Arc G3 and Arc G3 Extreme options. While rival handhelds using Intel’s newer handheld-focused graphics hardware have leaned toward the more powerful chip, Acer is giving buyers a slightly more accessible entry point. Even so, with a starting price just under £1,000, the Predator Atlas 8 is clearly aimed at enthusiasts rather than budget handheld shoppers.
Every model in the Predator Atlas 8 range features an 8-inch display with a 1920 x 1200 resolution. That taller 16:10 panel gives players more vertical space than a standard Full HD screen, which can be useful in PC games, strategy titles, menus, and productivity tasks.
The screen also supports a 120Hz refresh rate and Variable Refresh Rate, helping gameplay feel smoother when frame rates fluctuate. Acer says the panel reaches up to 500 nits of brightness and includes 10-point touch support. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and uses a low-reflection coating to improve visibility.
For controls, Acer has equipped the Predator Atlas 8 with hall-effect analog triggers, full-size analog sticks, and rear macro buttons. Hall-effect components are a welcome addition for handheld gaming devices, as they are designed to reduce wear-related input issues over time.
Cooling is handled by Acer’s AeroBlade active cooling system, which should be important given the power demands of Intel’s Arc G3 hardware in a compact handheld body. Since the device runs Windows 11 Home, users can access major PC game storefronts and launchers rather than being tied to one closed ecosystem.
Acer is also offering a couple of extras for early buyers. Pre-ordered units will include a pre-packed Corning Gorilla Glass screen protector, along with two months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Priority pre-order registration is already open through Acer’s UK store, although a wider pre-order date has not yet been announced.
The Acer Predator Atlas 8 is expected to launch in October across the UK, North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Australia. With its 8-inch 120Hz display, Intel Arc G3 hardware, Windows 11 support, and premium pricing, it looks set to compete directly with the growing wave of high-performance PC gaming handhelds arriving in 2026.
