Xiaomi CEO Celebrates Over 150,000 SU7 Deliveries

Xiaomi is making waves in the electric vehicle market with its striking achievement of delivering 150,000 units of their debut SU7 sedan in just under a year. The announcement came from Lei Jun, the visionary founder, chairman, and CEO of Xiaomi, who showcased this milestone while also demonstrating the SU7’s autonomous driving capabilities.

The journey of the SU7 began on March 28, 2024, sporting three distinct trims to cater to different preferences and budgets. The models launched with their starting prices set at RMB 215,900 ($29,800) for the Standard, RMB 245,900 ($33,900) for the Pro, and RMB 299,900 ($41,400) for the Max. Deliveries quickly followed suit in April, capturing the attention of consumers eager to embrace Xiaomi’s innovative drive into the automotive sector.

Determined to keep the momentum going, Xiaomi aims to double its success by targeting 300,000 SU7 deliveries in the current year. To commemorate its 15th anniversary, the company introduced a special limited-edition red color, priced at RMB 9,000 ($1,230), with eager customers expecting deliveries starting March.

Looking ahead, Xiaomi is set to introduce the high-performance Ultra trim of the SU7, available for enthusiasts in March, with Chinese buyers already placing pre-orders for RMB 814,900 ($112,400). In an exciting leap forward, Xiaomi also revealed plans for their next venture, the Xiaomi YU7 SUV, slated for launch in June or July of 2025.
