Vivo X500 Series Launches With Zeiss Cameras, 144Hz AMOLED Display, and Huge 7,500mAh Battery
Vivo has officially launched the Vivo X500 series in China, bringing a new lineup of premium camera-focused smartphones designed for users who want flagship performance, advanced imaging, and long battery life. The series includes three models: the Vivo X500, Vivo X500 Pro, and Vivo X500 Pro Max.
Among them, the standard Vivo X500 stands out with a powerful Zeiss-tuned camera system, a smooth 144Hz AMOLED display, a large battery, fast charging, and high-end connectivity features.
The Vivo X500 features a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a sharp 2,750 x 1,260-pixel resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. This makes it well-suited for gaming, scrolling, video streaming, and everyday use where smooth visuals matter. The screen size also keeps the phone relatively compact compared to many large flagship devices, while still offering a premium viewing experience.
Under the hood, the Vivo X500 is powered by the Dimensity 9600M chipset. Built on a 3nm process, the processor includes an eight-core CPU and an Arm G1-Ultra GPU. While the Pro models use the more advanced Dimensity 9600 Pro, the Dimensity 9600M still positions the standard X500 as a high-performance smartphone for demanding apps, multitasking, mobile photography, and gaming.
Vivo pairs the chipset with 12GB of LPDDR5X Ultra RAM. Storage options go up to 1TB using UFS 4.1 technology, offering fast app loading, quick file transfers, and plenty of room for photos, videos, games, and documents.
Photography is one of the biggest highlights of the Vivo X500. The phone comes with a triple rear camera setup tuned in partnership with Zeiss. The main camera uses a 50MP Sony LYT-828 sensor with a large 1/1.28-inch sensor size, an f/1.68 aperture, and optical image stabilization. This setup is designed to capture more light, improve detail, and deliver better low-light photography.
The main camera is joined by a 64MP Sony LYT-610 telephoto camera with a 72mm-equivalent focal length and optical image stabilization. This should help users capture sharper zoom shots, portraits, and distant subjects with better clarity. Completing the rear camera system is a 50MP ultrawide camera with a 15mm-equivalent focal length, making it useful for landscapes, architecture, group shots, and creative wide-angle photography.

Vivo is also offering dedicated camera accessories for the X500. The optional Vivo Zeiss Telephoto Extender G2 works with the phone’s telephoto camera to provide a 200mm-equivalent shooting option, giving users more reach for distant subjects. Another accessory, the Vivo Snap Screen, is a 3.92-inch wireless display that can show the rear camera preview and control select camera functions from up to 10 meters away. This could be especially useful for creators filming themselves with the higher-quality rear cameras.
Battery life is another major upgrade. The Vivo X500 packs a massive 7,500mAh battery, which is much larger than what is typically found in most flagship smartphones. It supports 90W wired charging and 40W wireless charging, giving users both speed and convenience. With this battery size, the X500 is clearly aimed at users who want all-day endurance and beyond, even with heavy use.
The Vivo X500 also includes several premium features expected from a modern flagship phone. It has an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, USB 3.2, and both IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. These features help make the device more durable, faster, and more reliable for daily use.
On the software side, the Vivo X500 ships with OriginOS 7 based on Android 17. The interface is expected to offer updated customization options, smoother animations, and improved system-level features.
In terms of design, the Vivo X500 comes in white, pink, black, and gray color options. The phone measures 8.15mm thick and weighs either 211g or 213g depending on the chosen finish. Considering the large battery and flagship camera hardware, Vivo appears to have kept the device reasonably slim.
Vivo X500 pricing in China starts at CNY 5,499, which is approximately $821, for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model. The 12GB RAM and 512GB storage version is priced at CNY 5,999, around $895. The top-end 12GB RAM and 1TB storage variant costs CNY 6,999, roughly $1,044.
The Vivo Zeiss Telephoto Extender G2 is priced at CNY 999, or about $149. The Vivo Snap Screen with magnetic case bundle costs CNY 708, around $106.
With its Zeiss-tuned cameras, 144Hz AMOLED display, powerful 3nm chipset, huge 7,500mAh battery, fast charging, and premium durability ratings, the Vivo X500 is shaping up to be one of Vivo’s most interesting flagship smartphones.
