Uber has introduced Senior Accounts, a new feature designed to enhance the app experience for older users. This offering prioritizes simplicity with larger text, straightforward interfaces, and user-friendly icons to make navigation easier.
In the United States, users can now integrate older family members into their family account via the “Family” menu under the Accounts tab. Those managing the family account can oversee payment methods, update saved destinations, book rides for seniors, and even contact drivers during trips. Additionally, family members can track the rides taken by senior users.
A notable feature is the integration of Medicare Flex cards, allowing seniors to pay for eligible medical visits, adding convenience and ease to necessary travel.
While Senior Accounts are currently available in the U.S., Uber aims to expand this feature globally, although a timeline has yet to be announced. This follows the earlier introduction of teen accounts, initially launched in select U.S. cities and subsequently expanded to other regions.
