Trine 6: Together in Time Revealed as the Next Magical Co-Op Adventure

Trine 6: Together in Time Announced for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and Switch 2

Frozenbyte has officially revealed Trine 6: Together in Time, the next chapter in its popular co-op puzzle-platforming fantasy series. The new adventure is scheduled to launch on September 17 for Windows PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.

Trine 6: Together in Time continues the series’ tradition of colorful fantasy worlds, physics-based puzzles, magical abilities, and cooperative gameplay. This time, the story introduces two new characters, Moira and Adrius, whose failed heist unexpectedly ties them to the fate of the kingdom. Their mistake brings them together with the legendary heroes Amadeus, Zoya, and Pontius as they race to stop a powerful magical disaster before a dangerous warlock can reclaim what he believes is his.

The new sequel puts a major focus on teamwork. Frozenbyte describes the puzzles in Trine 6 as being built with co-op play in mind, encouraging players to coordinate actions and combine character abilities in creative ways. However, solo players have not been left behind. The updated puzzle design allows every challenge to be completed alone, meaning players can still enjoy the full adventure without needing a group.

One of the biggest additions in Trine 6 is the new Time-Slow ability, which can be used by every playable hero. This power lets players slow the world around them, making it easier to land precise jumps, avoid danger, react during combat, or regain control when things become chaotic. It should add a fresh layer of strategy to both puzzle-solving and action sequences.

The game supports up to four players, with both local and online co-op available. Crossplay support will also allow friends to team up across different platforms, making it easier to experience the adventure together regardless of where they play.

Combat is also getting more dynamic in Trine 6. Players will need to dodge attacks, study enemy behavior, and use positioning and timing to survive. Some enemies can shield or strengthen their allies, forcing players to adapt instead of simply rushing forward. Boss fights are designed to combine combat, movement, and environmental hazards, creating larger encounters that test both reflexes and teamwork.

Exploration remains a key part of the experience. Trine 6 features a handcrafted fantasy world filled with hidden paths, secrets, and rewards. Careful players will be able to discover upgrades and other useful items that help strengthen their heroes throughout the journey.

The game includes five playable characters, mixing familiar favorites with two newcomers. Amadeus the Wizard returns with his ability to summon objects and manipulate the environment through magic. Zoya the Thief can use her bow to attack enemies and her rope to swing across gaps or interact with objects. Pontius the Knight brings heavy-hitting melee attacks, defensive shield skills, and the ability to help propel allies.

Joining them are Moira the Acrobat and Adrius the Squire. Moira uses agile kick-based combos and a ribbon that helps her swing through the world with speed and style. Adrius fights with a spear and can also plant it into the ground to create platforms, opening up new traversal options during puzzles and exploration.

With five distinct heroes, expanded co-op systems, crossplay, new time-bending abilities, and a fresh fantasy storyline, Trine 6: Together in Time looks set to deliver another charming puzzle-platforming adventure for longtime fans and newcomers alike. Its September 17 release will bring the magical series back to consoles and PC with a larger cast, more teamwork-focused challenges, and plenty of secrets to uncover.
