The excitement surrounding the upcoming Nothing Phone (3) is reaching new heights as its launch date approaches next month. Considered the company’s most ambitious smartphone yet, this device is rumored to deliver true flagship qualities. While the buzz has unveiled several details, the spotlight is on a potential major design shift. Speculation suggests that the Glyph Interface might either be absent or appear with a fresh twist, moving away from the traditional aesthetic.
Initially, there were rumors about the phone featuring Qualcomm’s top-tier Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 Elite chip. However, Nothing has now confirmed that the device will actually be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset. This revelation positions the phone as the most advanced in the company’s lineup.
This exciting news was shared by Nothing through social media platforms and its community forums. Additionally, a detailed 40-minute video was released, highlighting the capabilities of the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. According to Nothing, this chipset promises to be the most powerful one used in any of their devices so far, significantly enhancing performance. Carl Pei, the company’s co-founder, emphasized that the choice of this chipset wasn’t a compromise but a strategic decision to balance performance and efficiency. In the video, he mentioned, “We really have to outperform our previous flagship. Compared to Phone (2), it’s going to be 36% faster on CPU, 88% stronger on GPU, and 60% stronger on the NPU.”
Although Pei didn’t delve into precise reasons for choosing this chipset over its more elite counterpart, he did highlight that this is the first time the company is incorporating a newly launched, current chipset. This could hint at a strategic move to use up-to-date hardware, aiming to deliver a flagship experience while maintaining reasonable pricing.
Additionally, Pei stressed that the Nothing Phone (3) focuses on providing a holistic user experience by ensuring sustained performance alongside improved specifications. With the launch set for July 1st, anticipation is building as more details are expected to surface. All eyes are on Nothing to make a bold statement with this innovative device.
