Seiko has just unveiled two exciting limited-edition timepieces inspired by Pepsi, set for release in September. These exclusive models, the SRPL99 and SSK047, each limited to 7,000 units, bring together unique design elements and a dash of nostalgia and modernity.
The SRPL99 pays tribute to the retro 1990s Pepsi aesthetic, integrating it with the classic Seiko 5 Sports line. This watch features a 38mm stainless steel case, a three-fold clasp, and a see-through screw-down caseback, housing the Caliber 4R36 automatic movement. It offers a day/date display and a 41-hour power reserve. The white dial is beautifully contrasted with a red-and-blue bezel and blue accents, mirroring the vintage Pepsi look. Despite its compact 12.1mm thickness, it weighs 142g, making it both stylish and versatile.
In contrast, the SSK047 is designed as a sporty GMT model, equipped with the Caliber 4R34 for dual-time display. It sports a 42.5mm stainless steel case with a black hard coating, complemented by a silicone strap and a see-through screw-down caseback. Weighing 106g, it’s slightly thicker at 13.6mm. This model features modern Pepsi branding with a sleek black-blue-red color scheme and has “Pepsi” embossed into the strap, adding a contemporary flair.
Both watches come in special packaging resembling Pepsi cans, with the SRPL99 reflecting retro design cues and the SSK047 embracing a modern, sporty vibe. The introduction of unique materials and GMT functionality highlights the SSK047 as the sporty sibling, while the SRPL99 remains true to a classic diver-inspired design.
