Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 series tipped for major price hike in Europe
Samsung’s next flagship tablet lineup may arrive with a noticeably higher starting price than last year’s models. The upcoming Galaxy Tab S12 series is expected to launch soon, and recent leaks have already revealed early details about its design, specifications, and now its possible European pricing.
According to newly shared pricing information, Samsung may skip the standard Galaxy Tab S12 model entirely this year. That means buyers looking for a next-generation premium Samsung tablet may have to start with the Galaxy Tab S12+ instead, pushing the entry price much higher than before.
The Galaxy Tab S12+ is reportedly set to start at €1,299 in Europe. That price is said to apply to the Wi-Fi-only version with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Buyers who want more internal storage may need to pay significantly more, with the 12 GB RAM and 512 GB storage model expected to cost around €1,499.
As usual, 5G connectivity could add another premium. The Galaxy Tab S12+ with 12 GB of RAM, 256 GB of storage, and 5G support is rumored to cost €1,449. Meanwhile, the 5G version with 512 GB of storage may reach €1,649.
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is expected to sit at the top of the lineup, and its pricing reflects that position. The base Wi-Fi model with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage is tipped to start at €1,539. Adding 5G may increase the price by around €150, bringing that version close to €1,689.
For users who need more storage, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage could cost €1,739 without 5G. Pricing for the 1 TB versions has not yet been revealed, but based on the leaked figures, those models are likely to be even more expensive.
The biggest change this year may not be the price of a single model, but the absence of a regular Galaxy Tab S12. Without a more affordable base version, Samsung’s flagship tablet range could become harder to access for buyers who want premium performance without paying Ultra-level prices.
For comparison, last year’s Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra reportedly launched with a base price of €1,339 in Europe. If the latest pricing leak is accurate, the equivalent Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra model may cost about €200 more. That would represent a sizable jump, especially in a tablet market where premium Android devices already compete closely with high-end iPads and laptop alternatives.
Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S series has become known for large AMOLED displays, powerful multitasking features, S Pen support, and strong productivity tools. The Galaxy Tab S12+ and Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra are expected to continue that focus, likely targeting professionals, students, artists, and entertainment users who want a high-end Android tablet experience.
Still, the rumored price increase could make the decision more difficult for many shoppers. A starting price above €1,299 places the Galaxy Tab S12 series firmly in premium laptop territory.
