Leaked Renders Reveal Samsung’s Next Wave of Premium Tablets

Samsung Galaxy Tab S12+ and Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra leak in new renders ahead of expected 2026 launch

Samsung’s next wave of premium Android tablets is starting to come into focus. After the company mentioned the Galaxy Tab S12 lineup during its Q2 2026 earnings call as part of its premium product plans for the second half of the year, fresh renders have now given fans an early look at what could be the Galaxy Tab S12+ and Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra.

The Galaxy Tab S12 series is expected to succeed Samsung’s current flagship tablet range, bringing high-end displays, large batteries, 5G connectivity options, and performance upgrades aimed at users who want a powerful tablet for entertainment, productivity, and creative work.

According to the newly surfaced renders, the Galaxy Tab S12+ and Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra may keep Samsung’s familiar premium tablet design language, but with a few clear differences between the two models.

The Galaxy Tab S12+ appears to feature a front-facing camera placed inside the upper display bezel. Its bezels look slightly thicker than those on the Ultra model, giving it a more traditional tablet appearance. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra seems to continue Samsung’s use of a small display notch for the front camera, similar to the design seen on previous Ultra tablets.

The leaked images also show what appears to be a new default wallpaper with blue and purple tones, giving the tablets a polished and premium visual style. While wallpapers are not a major hardware detail, they often appear in official promotional renders, which makes these images more interesting for those following Samsung’s upcoming devices.

The Galaxy Tab S12+ is rumored to feature a 12.4-inch display, placing it in the sweet spot for users who want a large screen without moving into the oversized Ultra category. It may also include a battery with a typical capacity of around 10,600mAh, which should help support long sessions of streaming, gaming, note-taking, or multitasking.

A regulatory listing has also suggested that the US cellular version of the Galaxy Tab S12+ could support 5G, LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, and GNSS. That would make the device a strong option for users who need reliable connectivity on the go, especially for work, travel, or remote learning.

The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is expected to remain the most powerful and largest model in the lineup. Current rumors point to a 14.6-inch display, matching the size of its predecessor. The tablet may also retain an 11,600mAh battery, which would make sense given the larger screen and flagship positioning.

Performance could be one of the biggest upgrades this year. A recent benchmark listing suggests that the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra may use the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset paired with 12GB of RAM. The listed benchmark scores include 2,424 points in single-core testing and 8,446 points in multi-core testing, indicating strong performance for demanding tasks such as video editing, gaming, split-screen multitasking, and professional apps.

If these details are accurate, Samsung could be preparing a serious competitor in the premium tablet market. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, in particular, appears designed for users who want a laptop-like experience in a slim tablet form factor, especially when paired with a keyboard cover or stylus.

Samsung has not yet confirmed the full specifications, pricing, or exact release date for the Galaxy Tab S12 series. However, the company’s own comments suggest that the tablets are planned for the second half of 2026, with a launch currently expected around September.

With larger displays, big batteries, possible 5G models, and upgraded performance, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S12+ and Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra could become two of the most anticipated Android tablets of 2026. More official details are likely to emerge as the expected launch window gets closer.
