Samsung Galaxy Tab S12+ and Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra specs leak ahead of expected 2026 launch
Samsung’s next premium Android tablets are starting to come into focus, and the latest leak suggests the Galaxy Tab S12 series could bring major upgrades in display, performance, storage, and battery life. According to leaked specification details, Samsung may launch two flagship models in 2026: the Galaxy Tab S12+ and the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra.
Interestingly, the regular Galaxy Tab S12 may not be part of the lineup this time. Instead, Samsung is expected to bring back the Plus model, pairing it with the larger Ultra version for users who want a high-end tablet for productivity, entertainment, gaming, and creative work.
The Galaxy Tab S12+ is tipped to feature a 12.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 2800 x 1752 resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is expected to go even bigger with a 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen, a 2960 x 1848 resolution, and the same 120Hz refresh rate. That should make both tablets strong options for streaming, drawing, multitasking, and using Samsung DeX.
One of the biggest changes could be the processor. Both models are reportedly powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chipset, a flagship-class chip expected to deliver strong performance for demanding apps, gaming, and AI-powered features. This would continue Samsung’s recent shift toward using high-end MediaTek chips in some of its premium tablets.
For memory and storage, the Galaxy Tab S12+ is expected to come with 12GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra may offer the same 12GB RAM options, but a higher-end version with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage is also reportedly planned. Both tablets are said to support microSD cards up to 2TB, giving users plenty of room for videos, apps, games, documents, and creative projects.
The camera hardware will reportedly differ between the two models. The Galaxy Tab S12+ is expected to include a 13MP rear camera and a 12MP front camera. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra may add an 8MP ultrawide rear camera alongside its 13MP main sensor, while keeping a 12MP front-facing camera. Both tablets are expected to support video recording at up to 4K at 60 frames per second, which should be useful for video calls, content creation, and document scanning.
Battery life also looks promising. The Galaxy Tab S12+ is rumored to pack a 10,600mAh battery, which would be larger than the battery used in the Galaxy Tab S10+. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is expected to feature an 11,600mAh battery, matching the previous Ultra model. Both tablets are reportedly capable of 45W wired charging.
Samsung is also expected to keep the premium build quality intact. The Galaxy Tab S12+ and Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra are said to use aluminum bodies with IP68 dust and water resistance. That would make them among the more durable high-end tablets on the market, especially for users who want a device that can handle travel, work, and daily use.
The Galaxy Tab S12+ is reportedly lighter than its predecessor, weighing around 555 grams. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is expected to weigh around 693 grams and measure just 5.1mm thick, making it extremely slim for a tablet with such a large display.
Audio could be one area where the two models differ more noticeably. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is expected to include four speakers, while the Galaxy Tab S12+ may feature a two-speaker stereo setup. If accurate, that would be a surprising change for the Plus model compared with earlier Samsung premium tablets.
On the software side, both tablets are expected to launch with Android 17 and Samsung’s One UI 9.0 interface. The Galaxy Tab S12+ is also reported to include an S Pen, and it is very likely that Samsung will continue positioning the series as a productivity-focused alternative to laptops and other premium tablets. Wi-Fi and 5G versions are expected for both models.
Leaked European pricing suggests the Galaxy Tab S12+ could start at €1,299, which is roughly $1,491, for the version with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra may start at €1,539, or about $1,768, with the same base memory and storage configuration. The 5G models are reportedly expected to cost around €200 more than the Wi-Fi versions.
As for availability, the leak points to a possible October 7, 2026 launch date. Samsung has not officially confirmed that date, but the company has indicated that the Galaxy Tab S12 series is planned for the second half of 2026.
If the leaked specifications are accurate, the Galaxy Tab S12+ and Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra could be among Samsung’s most powerful tablets yet, offering large AMOLED displays, flagship performance, expandable storage, premium designs, S Pen support, and long battery life. For Android tablet buyers, creators, students, and productivity users, the Galaxy Tab S12 series may be one of the most important tablet launches of 2026.
