NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 Series Prices Rise Again as Memory Costs Climb
Buying a new graphics card may be about to get more expensive again. Several NVIDIA board partners are reportedly introducing another round of price increases for select GeForce RTX 50 series GPUs, with the RTX 5070, RTX 5070 Ti, and RTX 5080 among the models affected.
This could be the third or fourth GPU price adjustment seen this year, depending on the market and model. The latest increase appears to be tied to rising memory costs, which continue to put pressure on graphics card pricing across the supply chain.
According to reports from the hardware channel market, ASUS and Galax are among the first NVIDIA partners to raise prices this month. The increases are currently focused on mid-range, upper-mid-range, and high-end GeForce RTX 50 series cards rather than the entire lineup.
ASUS is said to have raised the price of its GeForce RTX 5070 graphics cards by around 150 to 300 yuan, which is approximately $22 to $44. Galax has reportedly increased its RTX 5070 pricing by around 200 yuan, or roughly $30.
The price changes do not stop there. Galax’s RTX 5070 Ti is expected to cost around 300 yuan more, equal to about $44, while the RTX 5080 may see an increase of up to 500 yuan, or around $74. ASUS reportedly began applying its new pricing on September 1, while Galax has also moved forward with its adjustments.
For now, the latest increases do not appear to include every GeForce RTX 50 series model. Entry-level and lower-tier cards seem to remain unaffected at the moment, while the premium RTX 5090 is not part of this specific adjustment. However, with RTX 5090 prices already reaching extremely high levels in some markets, buyers are already facing steep costs at the top end.
This latest graphics card price hike follows an earlier increase linked to NVIDIA’s memory and GPU bundle pricing. That adjustment began affecting the GeForce RTX 50 series market around the beginning of August, and many models saw higher retail prices soon after.
The concern now is that more board partners could follow ASUS and Galax. If additional manufacturers raise prices, PC builders and gamers may face another difficult buying period, especially those hoping to upgrade to a new RTX 50 series GPU before prices climb further.
