The OnePlus 12, featuring the high-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, didn’t launch as the first Android smartphone with this advanced chipset in 2023. However, its successor, the OnePlus 13, appears to have a better chance of an earlier release this year. Speculations suggest that the OnePlus 13 might debut ahead of a significant sales event in China, indicating an imminent launch.
In December 2023, OnePlus introduced its current flagship smartphone to the Chinese market. This year, reports from a prominent leaker, Digital Chat Station, indicate that the OnePlus 13 might launch sooner, possibly by the end of October 2024, to coincide with China’s annual Double Eleven retail event on November 11. This would offer a first look at OnePlus’s new flagship before its global release.
The OnePlus 13 is anticipated to feature a quad-curved 2K display powered by the next-generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor. It is also expected to have a larger battery while maintaining up to 100W wired charging capability, similar to its predecessor. Despite these advanced specs, the OnePlus 13 is likely to face strong competition from other smartphones, such as the Xiaomi 15 series, OPPO Find X8, and Vivo X200. All these devices are rumored to launch in late 2024, aiming to compete with the iPhone 16 series, which is expected to have its international debut in September.
