Introducing the AMD Ryzen 5 7600X3D: Experience “Zen 4” Power with 3D V-Cache Technology for Just $299 at Microcenter

AMD has released its Ryzen 5 7600X3D CPU as a Microcenter-exclusive product, priced at $299. This follows the precedent set by AMD’s introduction of the Ryzen 5 5600X3D last year, a 6-core 3D-Cache option available for $229 exclusively through Microcenter outlets in the US. The Ryzen 5 5600X3D received praise as an excellent option for budget gamers, although its limited availability to a single retailer meant that it wasn’t widely accessible.

Warren Beneson, Chief Merchandising Officer at Microcenter, expressed excitement about this release, stating the new Ryzen 5 7600X3D is a significant step in making high-performance, cache-rich processors more accessible to a broader range of PC enthusiasts.

The Ryzen 5 7600X3D, like its predecessor, features 6 cores and is based on the Zen 4 core architecture with 3D V-Cache technology. It offers 6 cores and 12 threads, with 32 MB of L3 cache and 64 MB of stacked 3D V-Cache, totaling 96 MB of L3 cache. The CPU operates at a base frequency of 4.1 GHz and can boost up to 4.7 GHz. It also supports Precision Boost Overdrive (PBO) and Curve Optimizer (CO), as well as up to 24 PCIe Gen 5.0 lanes and DDR5-5200 memory speeds, with capacities up to 128 GB.

With a 65W TDP, the Ryzen 5 7600X3D is an efficient option for gaming, compatible with almost any AM5 motherboard, even entry-level A620 models. The CPU is available either separately or in bundles, with one bundle including an ASUS TUF Gaming B650-PLUS WiFi motherboard and 32 GB of DDR5-6000 memory for $449.99, showcasing significant savings.

Microcenter also offers a similarly priced bundle with the Ryzen 7 9700X, which includes an AM5 motherboard and 32 GB of G.Skill DDR5-6000 memory. Additionally, AMD plans to introduce the Ryzen 5 5500X3D CPU soon, another entry-level 6-core 3D V-Cache option based on the Zen 3 core architecture, which will support AM4 boards.
