NVIDIA’s Game Ready Driver 595.71 Reportedly Resolves Resident Evil Requiem Performance Problems

NVIDIA has delivered a new Game Ready Driver that appears to resolve the frustrating performance problems many PC players reported in Resident Evil Requiem, particularly on GeForce RTX 40 series graphics cards.

The trouble started after NVIDIA’s Game Ready Driver 591.86, released in late January. Soon after, players began reporting noticeable performance drops in Resident Evil Requiem. Complaints ranged from sudden FPS dips and inconsistent frame pacing to outright crashes during gameplay. For many, it felt like the game’s PC performance took a step backward overnight, despite hardware that should have handled it smoothly.

NVIDIA attempted to address the situation with a follow-up release, Game Ready Driver 595.59, but that update created a new wave of problems. Reports indicated widespread instability, including black screens and system freezes, with RTX 50 series users being hit especially hard. The backlash was swift enough that the driver was quickly pulled, and NVIDIA moved to replace it with a corrected version.

That replacement is Game Ready Driver 595.71. According to NVIDIA’s Director of Game Ready Technology, Sean Pelletier, the issues reported with the previous driver release have been resolved. Players also questioned whether this update specifically fixed the Resident Evil Requiem performance regression, since the driver’s release notes didn’t clearly call out a performance fix for the game.

Pelletier clarified that an over-the-air (OTA) profile update for Resident Evil Requiem was released alongside Game Ready Driver 595.71, and that this is intended to address the game’s performance degradation. In other words, the improvement may come not only from the driver itself, but also from the additional game-specific profile included with the release.

If you install NVIDIA Game Ready Driver 595.71 and don’t notice improvements right away, NVIDIA recommends a full system reboot after installation. For players who were dealing with unstable frame rates or crashes in Resident Evil Requiem, this updated driver and the included profile update may be the key to getting performance back to where it should be.
