NVIDIA’s CEO, Jensen Huang, has recently lauded Taiwan, emphasizing its key position in the global technology sector, during his visit to Taipei. He made these remarks in the context of NVIDIA’s plans to expand its research and development initiatives in the region, particularly in artificial intelligence (AI).
Jensen Huang’s trip coincides with Computex 2024, one of the largest tech events worldwide, hosted by Taiwan. Computex serves as a platform where leading tech companies, including NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel, unveil and discuss their latest and upcoming products. It’s an event that garners significant attention each year, and in 2024, it seems to set the stage for major tech industry milestones.
While savoring the vibrant atmosphere of Taipei’s local night markets, a Taiwanese media reporter encountered Huang and seized the moment for an impromptu interview. When asked about the role of Taiwan within the tech world, Huang responded, “Taiwan is one of the most important countries in the world. It is at the center of the electronics industry. The computer industry is built because of Taiwan, so it’s a very, very important country.”
Huang was also seen blending in with the crowds, purchasing fruits while clad in his signature black leather jacket, displaying a certain ease among the public. He encouraged the reporter to attend his Computex keynote for more significant updates on NVIDIA’s initiatives and contributions that could shape the future of tech markets.
