Motorola’s Next Flagship Breaks Cover With Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 and Magnetic Wireless Charging

Motorola Edge 70 Max Launching in India on July 15 With Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 and Massive 7,100mAh Battery

Motorola is preparing to expand its Edge 70 lineup with a powerful new model: the Motorola Edge 70 Max. The company has officially confirmed that the smartphone will launch in India on July 15 at 12 PM local time, and early details suggest it will be one of the most performance-focused devices in the series.

The biggest highlight of the Motorola Edge 70 Max is its processor. The phone will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, a flagship-grade platform built on a 3nm process. Motorola is pairing the chip with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, aiming to deliver fast multitasking, smooth gaming, and strong overall performance.

To keep temperatures under control, the Edge 70 Max will include a large 5,500mm² vapor chamber cooling system. Motorola also claims the device can score more than three million points on AnTuTu, positioning it as a serious contender in the premium smartphone segment.

The display is another major selling point. The Motorola Edge 70 Max will feature a QHD+ LTPO screen with a 144Hz refresh rate, designed to offer sharp visuals and fluid scrolling. The panel is rated for up to 7,000 nits of peak brightness, which should help with outdoor visibility and HDR content.

Motorola has also confirmed 10-bit color support, DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection. The company says the phone will offer a 95.12% screen-to-body ratio, suggesting a highly immersive front design with slim bezels.

Battery life could be one of the strongest advantages of the Edge 70 Max. The phone will pack a large 7,100mAh battery, making it significantly bigger than what is typically found in many premium smartphones. It will support 90W wired fast charging, allowing users to top up the battery quickly despite its large capacity.

Another notable feature is 25W magnetic wireless charging. This sets the Edge 70 Max apart from other models in the Edge 70 series, as magnetic wireless charging is not available across the entire lineup.

In terms of build quality, the Motorola Edge 70 Max will use an aluminum frame paired with a glass rear panel, giving it a more premium feel. While Motorola has revealed several key specifications, the official price has not been announced yet.

With a flagship Snapdragon processor, a high-refresh-rate QHD+ display, a huge battery, fast wired charging, and magnetic wireless charging, the Motorola Edge 70 Max is shaping up to be one of the most exciting Motorola phones of the year. More details, including pricing and availability, are expected during the India launch event on July 15.
