Motorola Moto Snap Wireless Charger Debuts with Qi2.2 Support and Up to 30W Charging
Motorola has introduced the Moto Snap Wireless Charger at IFA 2026 in Berlin, adding a new magnetic wireless charging accessory to its growing device lineup. Priced from €39, or around $50, the charger is designed for users who want a faster, neater, and more reliable way to power up compatible smartphones without dealing with precise placement or cable clutter.
The Moto Snap Wireless Charger supports the latest Qi2.2 wireless charging standard, delivering up to 25W of power to compatible handsets. For select Motorola phones that use the company’s own charging technology, the output can climb to 30W, giving Motorola users an extra speed boost compared with standard Qi2.2 charging.
One of the biggest advantages of the Moto Snap Wireless Charger is its magnetic alignment system. Instead of placing a phone on a flat charging pad and hoping the coils line up correctly, the magnets help lock the handset into the ideal position. This can improve charging efficiency and reduce the chance of waking up to a phone that barely charged overnight.
Motorola says the charger also works through compatible magnetic cases, meaning users should not need to remove their case every time they want to recharge. That small convenience could make the accessory especially useful for daily charging at a desk, bedside table, or living room setup.
The charger includes built-in overheat and overcharge protection, both important for long-term battery health and safe charging. Wireless charging can generate heat, and excess heat often causes phones to slow down charging speeds to protect the battery. Motorola claims the Moto Snap Wireless Charger is designed to stay cooler during longer charging sessions, which may help maintain more consistent performance.
Another useful feature is zero standby power draw when no phone is attached. This means the charger does not continue pulling power while sitting idle, making it a more energy-conscious option for users who keep their charger plugged in throughout the day.
Motorola includes a 1.5-meter braided USB-C cable with the Moto Snap Wireless Charger. The extra cable length gives users more flexibility when placing the charger on a desk, nightstand, or countertop, especially if the nearest wall outlet is not directly beside the charging spot.
The Moto Snap Wireless Charger will roll out in selected markets across Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, and Asia Pacific in the coming weeks. Availability may vary by region, but its €39 starting price positions it as a relatively accessible magnetic wireless charger, especially for users with Qi2.2-compatible phones or newer Motorola devices.
The wireless charger was not Motorola’s only announcement at IFA 2026. The company also introduced the Edge 70 Plus, an upper mid-range smartphone featuring a 200MP main camera, a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, and a large 6,500mAh battery. That model starts at €529.
Motorola also revealed the Moto Watch Ultra, a Wear OS 6 smartwatch with LTE connectivity and health-tracking features developed in partnership with Polar. Together, the new charger, smartphone, and smartwatch show Motorola’s continued push into a more connected device ecosystem.
With Qi2.2 support, magnetic positioning, up to 30W charging for compatible Motorola phones, safety protections, and a competitive price, the Moto Snap Wireless Charger could become a practical add-on for users looking to upgrade their wireless charging setup in 2026.
