LG Gram 16 2026 debuts with Lunar Lake power, ultra-light design, and up to 23.5 hours of battery life
LG has introduced the 2026 Gram 16, a refreshed version of its popular thin-and-light laptop that focuses on portability, long battery life, and upgraded performance. While the launch arrived without much fanfare, the new model brings meaningful improvements over the 2025 edition, especially with its move to Intel’s Lunar Lake platform.
The LG Gram 16 2026 is available with Intel Core Ultra 5 226V and Core Ultra 7 258V processors. The Core Ultra 5 226V serves as the more affordable entry point and includes Intel Arc 130V graphics, while the Core Ultra 7 258V offers stronger performance with Intel Arc 140V graphics. These chip options should make the new Gram 16 noticeably more capable for everyday productivity, multitasking, creative work, and light graphics workloads.
With these upgrades, the standard Gram 16 moves closer to the performance territory of the Gram Pro lineup. However, there is one key difference: the 2026 Gram 16 does not use an OLED display. Instead, LG has equipped it with a 16-inch IPS panel featuring a 2560 x 1600 resolution and a productivity-friendly 16:10 aspect ratio.
Although it may not deliver the same deep contrast as an OLED screen, the display still looks promising for users who care about color accuracy. LG says the panel covers 99% of the DCI-P3 color space, making it suitable for photo editing, design tasks, content creation, and other professional workflows that benefit from wide color coverage.
Portability remains one of the biggest selling points of the LG Gram 16 2026. The laptop measures just 15.7 mm thick and weighs as little as 1.239 kg, or around 2.73 pounds. That makes it one of the lighter 16-inch laptops available, especially considering the large display and full-size chassis.
Battery life is another major highlight. Despite its slim design, the LG Gram 16 2026 packs a 77Wh battery. According to LG, the laptop can deliver up to 23.5 hours of use on a full charge, making it a strong option for students, business travelers, remote workers, and anyone who needs all-day endurance without constantly reaching for a charger.
The port selection is also practical for a modern lightweight laptop. The LG Gram 16 2026 includes two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, two USB4 ports, an HDMI port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Promotional materials also suggest the presence of a microSD card slot, although LG has not clearly highlighted it in the official specifications.
Other features include a speaker system with Dolby Atmos support, a clean and minimal design, and LG gram Link, which is designed to improve device connectivity and file sharing across compatible devices.
In China, the LG Gram 16 2026 starts at CNY 7,649, which is approximately $1,130, for the configuration with an Intel Core Ultra 5 226V processor, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD. The higher-end version with an Intel Core Ultra 7 258V, 32GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD is priced at CNY 9,499, or around $1,402.
LG has not yet confirmed when the Gram 16 2026 will launch globally. However, with its combination of Lunar Lake processors, a lightweight chassis, a color-rich 16-inch display, and claimed 23.5-hour battery life, the new Gram 16 could become an appealing choice for users looking for a premium ultraportable laptop with a large screen.
