Lenovo’s Latest Gaming Tablet Gets a Fresh New Look Just Months After Debut

Lenovo Legion Y700 Gen 5 Warrior Edition arrives with Dungeon Fighter Online-inspired design

Lenovo has introduced a new special edition of its compact gaming tablet in China, giving the Legion Y700 Gen 5 a striking visual makeover inspired by Dungeon Fighter Online. The new model is officially called the Lenovo Legion Y700 Gen 5 Warrior Edition, and it has been created in partnership with Neople, the developer behind the popular MMORPG.

The Legion Y700 Gen 5 has already gained attention as a powerful small-screen gaming tablet, and this Warrior Edition is aimed at fans who want something more collectible than the standard model. While the regular tablet is available in colors such as Carbon Black, Ice White, Starlight Purple, and a Green FIFA Edition, the Warrior Edition takes a darker and more premium approach.

The tablet comes in black with bold gold artwork across the rear panel, giving it a more dramatic gaming-focused look. The Legion logo also appears in gold, matching the overall theme. For Dungeon Fighter Online fans, this design is the main attraction, turning the device into more than just another Android gaming tablet.

Lenovo is offering the Legion Y700 Gen 5 Warrior Edition in one configuration only. It includes 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, priced at ¥4,799, which is roughly $709 or €608. By comparison, the standard Carbon Black version with the same memory and storage costs ¥4,699, making the special edition slightly more expensive due to its exclusive design.

Pre-orders for the tablet are already open in China, with the official release scheduled for June 9. At the moment, Lenovo has not announced plans to launch the Warrior Edition outside China.

In terms of hardware, the Warrior Edition appears to be identical to the standard Lenovo Legion Y700 Gen 5. That means buyers are getting the same high-end gaming specifications, only with a custom exterior.

The tablet features an 8.8-inch display with a sharp 3040 × 1904 resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. This makes it well-suited for fast-paced games where smooth motion and quick response times matter. The compact size also gives it an advantage over larger tablets, making it easier to hold for long gaming sessions.

Powering the device is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, paired with fast UFS 4.1 storage. While the Warrior Edition comes with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, the standard Legion Y700 Gen 5 lineup is available in higher configurations, going up to 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. Lenovo has also included a microSD card slot with support for up to 2TB of additional storage, which is useful for gamers with large app libraries, media files, and downloads.

For cameras, the tablet includes a 50MP rear sensor and an 8MP front-facing camera for video calls and streaming. Audio is handled by stereo speakers tuned by JBL, giving the device a stronger entertainment focus beyond gaming.

Other key features include Wi-Fi 7 support, dual USB-C ports, a large 9,000mAh battery, and 68W fast wired charging. The tablet ships with Android 16 out of the box.

The Lenovo Legion Y700 Gen 5 Warrior Edition does not introduce new performance upgrades, but it does offer a more distinctive design for collectors and fans of Dungeon Fighter Online. With its compact 8.8-inch 165Hz display, flagship-class processor, big battery, and custom gold-on-black artwork, it stands out as one of Lenovo’s most eye-catching gaming tablets yet.
