Lenovo is gearing up to launch its next compact flagship gaming tablet, the Legion Y700 Gen 5, and the company is gradually teasing the features that will define it. The latest reveal focuses on one of the most practical upgrades for everyday use: stronger device-to-device connectivity designed to work across different platforms.
According to Lenovo, the Legion Y700 Gen 5 will ship with Super Interconnect 3.0, a feature set meant to deliver “smooth cross-ecosystem” collaboration. The biggest highlight is iOS device interconnection, which suggests the tablet will be able to connect with an iPhone for expanded sharing and continuity. Cross-platform integration with iOS is often limited compared to same-ecosystem features, so it will be worth watching how far Lenovo takes this functionality once the tablet launches.
Lenovo also says Super Interconnect 3.0 supports simple drag-and-drop file transfers, aiming to make moving content between devices faster and more natural. Another notable capability is using the Legion Y700 Gen 5 as a secondary display for a gaming PC. While an 8.8-inch screen won’t replace a full monitor for most work tasks, it could be genuinely useful in portable gaming setups, travel scenarios, or as a compact companion screen for monitoring chats, system stats, or streams.
On top of that, notification sharing is included, which should help users keep up with alerts without constantly switching devices. Lenovo hints that the same connectivity suite may also appear on another upcoming tablet, the Xiaoxin Tablet Pro GT13, suggesting this cross-device approach could become a broader part of the company’s tablet lineup.
Beyond connectivity, Lenovo has already confirmed the Legion Y700 Gen 5 will feature an 8.8-inch display with a 165Hz refresh rate, a spec that targets smooth gameplay and responsive scrolling. The tablet is expected to run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, with rumored configurations going up to 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. Previous reports also point to a 9,000mAh battery paired with 68W fast charging, a combination that would suit long gaming sessions while keeping downtime relatively short.
For now, Lenovo hasn’t confirmed every specification, but more official teasers are expected as the launch approaches. The Legion Y700 Gen 5 is currently expected to debut in China around March 2026, and if these features land as promised, it could become one of the most interesting small-form gaming tablets for players who want high refresh-rate performance plus smarter cross-device workflow tools.
