Lenovo Googlebook 15 Leak Points to a Premium Chromebook-Style Laptop With OLED, Intel Core Ultra and Gemini AI
Lenovo appears to be preparing a new premium laptop called the Googlebook 15, and based on leaked product details, this may be far more ambitious than a typical Chromebook. Instead of aiming at the entry-level education or budget laptop market, the Lenovo Googlebook 15 seems designed for users who want a sleek, AI-ready productivity machine with high-end display technology and strong everyday performance.
The upcoming device is reportedly listed as the Lenovo GB 15IPH12. It is expected to run on an Intel Core Ultra 5 325 processor, paired with integrated graphics featuring four Xe cores. Memory options are said to include 16 GB and 32 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, while storage configurations may include 256 GB or 512 GB.
One of the most interesting details is the platform information. Lenovo’s documentation reportedly connects the IPH platform code to Intel’s Panther Lake-H platform, suggesting that this device may be part of a newer generation of premium thin-and-light laptops.
The biggest highlight of the Lenovo Googlebook 15 is likely its display. The laptop is expected to feature a 15.3-inch OLED touchscreen with a sharp 2880 x 1800 resolution. It may also support a 120 Hz refresh rate, making scrolling, animations, and general navigation feel much smoother than on standard 60 Hz panels.
The OLED screen is also said to reach up to 500 nits of brightness and cover 100% of the DCI-P3 color range. That combination should make it appealing for streaming, photo editing, design work, and anyone who wants rich colors and deep contrast from a laptop display. For a Google-focused laptop, these display specifications suggest Lenovo is targeting a more premium audience.
Connectivity also looks strong. The Lenovo Googlebook 15 is expected to include two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a USB-A port, HDMI 2.0, a 3.5mm headphone jack, WiFi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4. That should give users plenty of flexibility for external monitors, accessories, fast wireless networking, and modern peripherals.
Despite carrying a large 15.3-inch screen, the laptop is reportedly quite lightweight at around 1.29 kg. That could make it attractive for students, professionals, and travelers who want a bigger display without carrying a bulky machine.
Battery life may also be a key selling point. The device is said to include a 70Wh battery, with Lenovo’s internal testing reportedly suggesting up to 11 hours of use. Real-world battery life will depend on brightness, workload, wireless usage, and refresh rate settings, but the capacity sounds promising for an OLED laptop in this size class.
The Googlebook 15 is also expected to include several Google-focused software and security features. Built-in Gemini Intelligence is reportedly part of the package, bringing AI-powered tools directly into the laptop experience. Android phone synchronization is also expected, which could make it easier to connect messages, files, notifications, and app experiences across devices.
For security, the laptop may offer fingerprint authentication along with Google facial authentication. Lenovo is also said to be adding a dedicated Google “G” key on the keyboard, giving users quick access to Google services or AI features.
Another distinctive design element is reportedly called the Glowbar. This multicolor LED strip is positioned near the hinge and appears to provide quick visual feedback for battery and charging status. It could give the Googlebook 15 a more unique identity compared to traditional laptops in the same category.
At the moment, Lenovo has not confirmed official pricing or launch timing for the Googlebook 15. However, based on the leaked specifications, this laptop looks like it could become one of the most premium Google-powered laptops on the market.
If the final product matches these details, the Lenovo Googlebook 15 could appeal to users who want the simplicity of a Google-centered computing experience combined with premium hardware, a high-refresh OLED touchscreen, modern Intel performance, and AI features powered by Gemini.
