Nintendo Switch 2 Monster Hunter Wilds Bundle Announced, but It’s Japan-Only for Now
Nintendo is preparing a new Nintendo Switch 2 bundle built around one of Capcom’s biggest recent hits, Monster Hunter Wilds. The upcoming package will launch in Japan alongside the Switch 2 version of the game, giving fans a convenient way to pick up the console and the action RPG together.
The Nintendo Switch 2 has already been on the market for more than a year, and Nintendo has gradually expanded its lineup of console-and-game bundles. This latest release continues that strategy, but with a major catch: the Monster Hunter Wilds bundle has only been announced for Japan at this time.
Monster Hunter Wilds originally launched in February 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The game quickly became a massive success for Capcom, selling 8 million copies in just three days and surpassing 11 million total sales. That rapid performance made it Capcom’s fastest-selling game ever, which explains why a Nintendo Switch 2 bundle featuring the title could become one of the most sought-after packages in Japan.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Monster Hunter Wilds is scheduled to release on December 4. The same day, Japanese customers will be able to buy the Nintendo Switch 2 Monster Hunter Wilds bundle for JPY 61,980, which is roughly $407 or €351.
The bundle will include a Nintendo Switch 2 console, Joy-Con controllers, a digital download code for Monster Hunter Wilds, and a free 90-day Nintendo Switch Online membership. Based on current details, the console and Joy-Cons included in the package appear to be the standard original version rather than the newer European model with a user-replaceable battery.
For now, there is no confirmation that the Nintendo Switch 2 Monster Hunter Wilds bundle will be released in North America or Europe. Nintendo has previously offered Japan-exclusive console bundles, including a Switch 2 package tied to Splatoon Raiders, so this regional launch is not entirely surprising.
Players who already own a Nintendo Switch 2 will still be able to buy Monster Hunter Wilds separately. In Japan, the standard edition will be offered at a discounted launch price of JPY 3,742 instead of the regular JPY 4,990 until January 7, 2027. A Gold Edition will also be available for JPY 7,990 and includes the base game along with the Cosmetic DLC Collection.
In Europe and the United States, the digital standard edition of Monster Hunter Wilds for Nintendo Switch 2 will be priced at €39.99 and $39.99.
With Monster Hunter Wilds already proving to be a global blockbuster, its arrival on Nintendo Switch 2 could give the console another major boost during the holiday season. If demand in Japan is as strong as expected, many fans outside the region will likely be hoping Nintendo eventually brings the bundle to more markets.
