Monster Hunter Outlanders Roars Onto iOS and Android

Monster Hunter Outlanders Arrives on Mobile October 29: Weapons, Co-op, Open World, and Requirements

Monster Hunter Outlanders is almost ready to bring Capcom’s legendary hunting formula to smartphones. The new free-to-play mobile spin-off launches on iOS and Android on October 29, 2026, giving players a fresh open-world survival experience built specifically for mobile devices.

Developed by TiMi Studio Group under license from Capcom, Monster Hunter Outlanders takes the familiar monster-hunting action of the franchise and adapts it for a larger, explorable mobile world. Capcom has supervised the project, while TiMi has handled development. A separate version for mainland China is expected to arrive in 2027.

Pre-registration is now available through the App Store and Google Play, giving players a chance to prepare before launch day.

Monster Hunter Outlanders weapon list at launch

Monster Hunter Outlanders will launch with a strong selection of weapon types, giving players several ways to approach each hunt. The confirmed weapon roster includes:

Great Sword

Long Sword

Dual Blades

Hammer

Lance

Heavy Bowgun

Bow

In addition, producer Dong Huang has confirmed that the Charge Blade will also be available at launch. That brings another technical, high-impact weapon option for hunters who enjoy switching between offensive styles during battle.

More weapons, monsters, and explorable areas are planned for future updates, meaning the launch version is only the beginning of the game’s long-term roadmap.

No auto-combat, with controls for both veterans and newcomers

Unlike many mobile action RPGs, Monster Hunter Outlanders will not use auto-combat. Players will need to actively dodge, attack, aim, position themselves, and learn monster behavior during hunts.

The game will include two control schemes. One is designed for longtime Monster Hunter players who want a more familiar experience, while the other is made for mobile-first players who may be new to the series.

This approach should make the game more accessible without removing the skill-based combat that defines Monster Hunter.

A new Elder Dragon joins the hunt

Monster Hunter Outlanders will introduce an original Elder Dragon named Ruger Aidal. Elder Dragons are often among the most powerful and memorable creatures in the Monster Hunter universe, so Ruger Aidal is likely to be one of the major threats players encounter in the mobile game.

The addition of a new flagship-level monster gives Outlanders its own identity instead of simply relying on returning creatures from past games.

Explore Aesoland, a new open world built for mobile

The adventure takes place in Aesoland, a large world made up of different biomes. Players can expect to explore forests, swamps, deserts, and other dangerous environments filled with monsters, resources, and survival challenges.

Movement appears to be a major part of the experience. Trailers have shown hunters using gliders, climbing across terrain, swimming through water, and using a grappling hook to move around the world more quickly.

The game also includes a building system that lets players create useful travel tools such as launchers, ziplines, and gliding facilities. These features should make exploration faster and give players more control over how they move through Aesoland.

Four-player co-op hunting

Monster Hunter Outlanders will support real-time co-op for up to four players. This means friends can team up to track, fight, and defeat large monsters together, just like in the mainline Monster Hunter games.

The game will also include guild features and fixed-team options, making it easier for regular groups to organize hunts and play together consistently.

Every adventurer will be joined by a companion, including the iconic Palico, a familiar feline buddy that has become one of the most beloved parts of the Monster Hunter series.

Regional publishing details

Publishing will vary depending on region. Garena is handling the game in Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines. Tencent’s global games brand, Level Infinite, has also promoted Monster Hunter Outlanders internationally.

Monster Hunter Outlanders requirements for Android and iOS

Since Monster Hunter Outlanders is an open-world mobile game with real-time combat, its hardware requirements are higher than many standard mobile titles.

For Android, pre-launch guidance lists the following recommended requirements:

Android 12

8 GB RAM

Snapdragon 888 processor or equivalent

For iPhone users, the game requires:

iPhone 12 or newer

iOS 17 or later

The App Store listing shows an initial download size of around 3.6 GB. However, closed beta players have reported that some test builds were much larger, with sizes closer to 40 GB. Because these figures come from pre-release and beta information, the final storage requirements may change at launch.

Free-to-play with in-app purchases

Monster Hunter Outlanders will be free to download and play, but it will include in-app purchases. Adventurers are obtained through gacha-style pulls, which means character collection and progression may be tied to randomized acquisition systems.

Players interested in the game should keep this monetization model in mind, especially if they plan to invest time in team-building or unlocking specific adventurers.

A major mobile release for Monster Hunter fans

Monster Hunter Outlanders is shaping up to be one of the biggest mobile game releases of 2026. With real-time four-player co-op, a large open world, classic weapon types, no auto-combat, and a brand-new Elder Dragon, it aims to deliver a more complete Monster Hunter experience on phones.

The October 29 launch will be the first real test of how well the series’ deep combat, exploration, and cooperative hunting translate to iOS and Android. For longtime fans and curious newcomers alike, Monster Hunter Outlanders could become one of the most ambitious mobile action RPGs of the year.
