Lectric Unveils Budget-Friendly Commuter E-Bike With Hydraulic Brakes and 72 km Range

Lectric has introduced a new city-focused electric bike aimed at riders who want a practical commuter e-bike without paying premium prices. Called the Lectric XPress Lite, the model is a lighter, more affordable alternative to the brand’s XPress2 urban e-bike, while still offering strong performance, commuter-friendly features, and modern safety certifications.

The Lectric XPress Lite is built for daily travel on city streets, whether that means riding to work, running errands, or replacing short car trips. At the heart of the e-bike is a Stealth M24 500W rear hub motor. While its rated output is 500W, the motor can deliver up to 864W of peak power and 61 Nm of torque, giving riders enough support for quick acceleration, hills, and stop-and-go urban riding.

The e-bike can reach a top speed of 28 mph, or about 45 km/h, depending on its class configuration. Lectric allows the XPress Lite to be set up for Class 1, Class 2, or Class 3 operation, making it flexible for different local regulations and rider preferences.

Power is supplied by a removable 347 Wh battery that is certified to UL 2271 standards. Lectric says the battery can provide up to 45 miles, or 72 km, of range when using pedal assist. That range should be enough for many daily commutes, especially for riders who use lower assistance modes to conserve battery life.

The XPress Lite pairs its motor with an 8-speed Shimano Altus drivetrain and a torque sensor. The torque sensor is an important feature for riders who want a more natural pedaling feel, as it adjusts motor assistance based on how hard the rider pedals rather than simply reacting to crank movement.

Despite its commuter-ready equipment, the Lectric XPress Lite remains relatively lightweight for an electric bike. It weighs 45.6 lbs, or 20.6 kg, which should make it easier to handle than many heavier urban e-bikes. The bike supports a maximum payload of 275 lbs, or 124.8 kg, including the rider and any cargo.

The design includes a mid-step frame for easier mounting and dismounting, along with a lightweight aluminum fork and 27.5-inch tires. Hydraulic brakes are included as standard, giving the XPress Lite stronger and more consistent stopping power than mechanical brake systems, especially in city traffic or wet conditions.

Riders also get a detachable 3.5-inch TFT color display. The screen shows key ride details such as speed, battery level, riding mode, and trip distance. The XPress Lite includes five riding modes: eco, tour, sport, sport+, and turbo. These modes let riders choose between longer range, balanced assistance, or maximum power depending on the ride.

For visibility and safety, Lectric has equipped the e-bike with an integrated rear light, brake light, and turn signals. The bike is also UL 2849 certified, adding another layer of reassurance for buyers looking for an electric bike that meets recognized electrical safety standards. Keyless riding is also included for added convenience.

Lectric offers several accessories for the XPress Lite, allowing riders to customize it for commuting, grocery runs, or longer everyday rides. Available add-ons include racks, panniers, fenders, a suspension seatpost, a comfort saddle, a phone mount, and more.

The Lectric XPress Lite is available in four color options: pine green, glacier white, toasted marshmallow, and stratus white. Pricing starts at $1,099, positioning it as an affordable commuter e-bike with a strong mix of performance, range, hydraulic brakes, and urban-focused features. Buyers can purchase the new model directly from Lectric.
