DJI’s next pocket-sized vlogging camera is looking very close to launch. Even though DJI still hasn’t confirmed an official release date, a wave of early hands-on videos shared by Chinese influencers is already revealing key details about the upcoming DJI Osmo Pocket 4P, including its zoom performance and what may ship in the box.
Based on the growing number of first-impression clips appearing across Chinese social platforms, the Osmo Pocket 4P appears to be in the final stretch before release in China. The timing of these posts, along with how detailed the footage is, strongly suggests DJI is preparing to launch the camera before the end of May.
One of the biggest upgrades teased so far is the camera setup. DJI has already indicated that the Osmo Pocket 4P pairs a 1-inch primary camera with a dedicated telephoto sensor. That telephoto camera is said to offer up to 3x optical zoom, giving creators a true zoom option without relying entirely on cropping or digital tricks.
Early hands-on footage goes further, showing that the Osmo Pocket 4P can push beyond optical zoom into digital zoom, reaching at least 10x in real-world use. Some testers are also highlighting the quality and usability around mid-range zoom levels, including 6x, which is often where digital zoom starts to show its limitations. If DJI has improved processing and stabilization here, it could make the Pocket 4P much more flexible for travel shots, street footage, and quick product-style b-roll without changing your position.
The accessory bundle is also getting attention. One influencer video focuses less on image samples and more on what appears to be DJI’s Creator Combo package. The clip suggests DJI will include several familiar add-ons seen with previous Osmo Pocket bundles, such as a fill light and a mini tripod—two accessories that are especially useful for handheld creators filming indoors, at night, or when setting up quick stationary shots.
The same video also shows an additional lens accessory that hasn’t been fully explained yet. From what’s visible, it looks like a wide-angle lens designed for the telephoto camera, which is an interesting idea. If that’s accurate, it could give creators more framing options and make the second camera more useful beyond simple zoom shots.
With so many influencers already publishing detailed hands-on content, the DJI Osmo Pocket 4P is no longer a mystery device teased in rumors. Between the 1-inch main camera, the telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and digital zoom shown reaching 10x, the Pocket 4P is shaping up to be a serious upgrade for vloggers and travelers who want high-quality footage in a compact, stabilized camera.
