Huawei has officially introduced the Watch GT Runner 2 Racing Legend Edition in global markets, expanding its lineup shortly after the standard Watch GT Runner 2 debuted. The new release was revealed during the company’s recent global launch event, where it also showcased the Watch Kids X series wearables.
What makes the Huawei Watch GT Runner 2 Racing Legend Edition stand out is its athlete-driven design collaboration with legendary long-distance runner Eliud Kipchoge. This special edition arrives with a distinctive fabric strap featuring blue, red, white, and green stripes, giving it a sport-focused look that’s instantly recognizable. Huawei also includes an exclusive Racing Legend watch face, built to display real-time running insights at a glance for training and performance tracking.
Beyond the visual upgrades, the Racing Legend Edition appears to match the standard Watch GT Runner 2 in features and hardware. It’s aimed squarely at runners and fitness enthusiasts who want deeper training data, offering metrics such as VO2 Max, recovery progress, and a running ability index (RAI) designed to help athletes understand conditioning and track improvements over time.
For more structured guidance, the watch also provides access to a professional Training Camp Dashboard created with input from the dsm-firmenich Running Team. Through this dashboard, users can review key running metrics, spot performance trends, and keep a detailed workout record, making it easier to plan sessions and stay consistent.
The smartwatch also packs a strong set of everyday features alongside its sports tools. Buyers can expect ECG analysis, on-watch music playback, Bluetooth calling, and NFC support, helping the device double as both a training companion and a daily wearable. Huawei estimates up to seven days of battery life under typical use, which should appeal to runners who don’t want to charge frequently between workouts.
As of now, Huawei hasn’t confirmed exactly when the Watch GT Runner 2 Racing Legend Edition will be available in Europe or what the pricing will be in that market.
