DJI is ramping up anticipation for its next pocket-sized vlogging camera, the Osmo Pocket 4 Pro (also referred to as the Osmo Pocket 4P). After nearly a month of teasers on Chinese social media, the company has published multiple short preview videos on Weibo, giving creators and mobile filmmakers plenty to speculate about. Even so, DJI still hasn’t locked in an official launch date or full availability details.
One key update is now clear: DJI plans to release the Osmo Pocket 4P globally, not just in China. However, early signals suggest this “global” rollout may not include the United States. DJI’s US website currently shows no mention of the Osmo Pocket 4P, while DJI’s Canadian and Mexican sites do include references—hinting at a broader international launch that skips the US market, at least at first.
The latest teaser video DJI shared internationally appears to be the same clip originally posted in China on April 16. That timing matters, because it suggests China could get the Osmo Pocket 4P earlier than other regions. DJI hasn’t confirmed staggered release timing outright, but the repeated teaser and China-first marketing push make a “China first, other markets later” launch strategy seem likely.
As for features, DJI is keeping most specifications under wraps, but the company has revealed a couple of major highlights that will matter to vloggers and travel creators. The Osmo Pocket 4P is teased to include a 1-inch primary camera, continuing the focus on improved image quality and low-light performance. On top of that, DJI says the camera will also include a dedicated 3x telephoto camera—an attention-grabbing addition for a compact, handheld creator camera, especially for filming subjects at a distance without relying on digital zoom.
While DJI isn’t sharing much more officially yet, hands-on videos are already circulating on Chinese social platforms, suggesting the device is close to launch and that more concrete details—such as stabilization upgrades, video resolutions, battery life, and creator-focused modes—could surface soon.
For anyone shopping for a portable vlogging camera or a compact stabilized video device, the Osmo Pocket 4P is shaping up to be one of DJI’s most interesting creator releases in this category, especially with the combination of a 1-inch main camera and a 3x telephoto option. The next big question is simple: when it launches, which countries get it first, and whether the US will be included later.
