Metro 2039 Collector’s Edition May Cost £259.99 and Include a Wearable Spartan Helmet, but PC Buyers Might Not Get a Disc
Metro 2039 is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about physical releases of 2027, not only because of its return to the atmospheric shooter series, but also because of an eye-catching Collector’s Edition that may include a wearable Spartan helmet.
The upcoming game from 4A Games is reportedly set to launch with three boxed retail editions in the UK, with prices ranging from £59.99 to £259.99. While the packages have not yet been officially confirmed in full, the details suggest that fans will have several options depending on how much physical memorabilia they want with the game.
The most expensive version is expected to be the Metro 2039 Collector’s Edition, reportedly priced at £259.99 in the UK or €299.99 in Europe. Its headline item is a wearable replica of the Stranger’s Spartan helmet, based on the protagonist’s in-game 3D model. Deep Silver previously revealed the helmet, which features a hinged visor, gas-mask-inspired elements, and a battle-worn finish designed to match the harsh world of Metro.
For collectors, that helmet could be the main attraction. It is the kind of display piece likely to appeal to long-time Metro fans, cosplay enthusiasts, and players who enjoy premium gaming editions with substantial real-world collectibles.
The reported Metro 2039 editions are as follows:
The Day One Edition is expected to cost £59.99 or €69.99. It reportedly includes the base game along with pre-order downloadable content.
The Deluxe Edition is said to be priced at £94.99 or €109.99. This version reportedly adds a SteelBook case, a hardcover artbook, a digital artbook, a digital soundtrack, and a story expansion, all packaged in a cardboard collector’s box.
The Collector’s Edition is expected to include everything from the Deluxe Edition, plus the wearable Spartan helmet replica. This edition is reportedly set at £259.99 or €299.99.
One detail may divide collectors, especially on PC. Console versions of the Day One and Deluxe editions are reportedly expected to include physical game discs, although an internet download will still be required. The PC versions, however, are said to include download codes instead of discs.
That creates an unusual situation for anyone buying the most expensive PC edition. The package may include a large physical helmet, premium art items, and a SteelBook, but not an actual PC game disc. For players who still value true physical ownership, this could make the Metro 2039 PC Collector’s Edition feel less complete despite its high price.
It is not yet clear which PC platform the download code will support. That detail will likely matter to many players before they commit to a pre-order.
Pre-orders for Metro 2039 are reportedly expected to begin around 13 October, or possibly by 14 October at the latest. However, pricing, edition contents, and platform-specific details should still be treated as unofficial until the publisher confirms them.
Metro 2039 is currently scheduled to release on 4 February 2027 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. If the reported editions are accurate, the game could become one of the more notable collector’s releases of the year, especially thanks to its wearable Spartan helmet. But for PC fans, the lack of a physical disc may raise a familiar question: how “physical” is a boxed edition when the game itself only comes as a download code?
