Leak Reveals HMD’s Upcoming Power Banks, One Featuring Qi2 Wireless Charging

HMD Could Be Preparing Two New Power Banks, Including a Slim Qi2 Magnetic Wireless Model

HMD appears to be getting ready to expand its accessory lineup with two dedicated power banks, according to a new leak. The company previously experimented with portable charging through the HMD Amped Buds, a pair of wireless earbuds whose charging case could also top up a phone. Now, HMD may be preparing proper standalone battery packs with much larger capacities and more practical charging features.

The leaked accessories are expected to launch as the HMD Power Bank P10 and HMD Power Bank P10 Slim. Both models are said to feature a more premium design, suggesting HMD wants these power banks to feel like stylish everyday tech accessories rather than basic backup batteries.

The standard HMD Power Bank P10 is rumored to come with a 10,600mAh battery capacity. That would make it far more useful than the 1,600mAh battery found in the HMD Amped Buds case, which was mainly suitable for emergency top-ups rather than full phone recharges. With more than 10,000mAh available, the P10 should be able to charge most smartphones at least once, depending on the phone’s battery size.

Charging support on the HMD Power Bank P10 is expected to include 20W USB Power Delivery and 18W fast charging. The device is also said to include two ports: a USB-C port that works for both input and output, and a USB-A port for output. This setup should make it convenient for users who still rely on older charging cables while also supporting modern USB-C devices.

The more interesting model may be the HMD Power Bank P10 Slim. As the name suggests, this version is expected to offer a thinner and more portable design. It is rumored to have a 10,260mAh battery, making it only slightly smaller than the regular P10 in terms of capacity.

What sets the P10 Slim apart is its reported support for Qi2 magnetic wireless charging. If the leak is accurate, the power bank will be able to magnetically attach to compatible devices and deliver wireless charging at up to 15W. This could make it a convenient option for users who prefer cable-free charging while traveling, commuting, or working away from a wall outlet.

The HMD Power Bank P10 Slim is also expected to include a USB-C port with up to 20W Power Delivery output. That means users should be able to choose between magnetic wireless charging and faster wired charging, depending on the situation.

The addition of Qi2 magnetic wireless charging could make the P10 Slim a fitting companion for future HMD phones, especially models that support magnetic wireless charging. It should also work with other Qi2-compatible smartphones and accessories, making it more versatile beyond HMD’s own ecosystem.

At the moment, there is no confirmed information about pricing, release date, or regional availability for either power bank. HMD has also not officially announced the products, so the details should be treated as early leak-based information for now.

If these accessories launch as described, HMD could have a solid pair of portable chargers on the way. The HMD Power Bank P10 would appeal to users who want a reliable wired power bank with a generous battery capacity, while the HMD Power Bank P10 Slim could attract buyers looking for a modern magnetic wireless charging power bank with a sleek design.
